Signs with Bengals' active roster The Bengals will sign Allen to the active roster Monday, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.
Impact Allen was on the Bengals' practice squad but will slot into the backup role behind Ryan Finley following news that Joe Burrow suffered a torn ACL and MCL during Sunday's loss to Washington. Over three games with the Broncos last season, Allen completed 39 of 84 passes (46 percent) for 515 yards, three touchdowns and two interceptions.

Hitting waiver wire Allen was waived by the Bengals on Saturday, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.
Impact The Bengals also jettisoned Jake Dolegala leaving just Ryan Finley as the sole backup, although Pelissero hinted the team could make a move for one of the top backup QBs on the market thanks to their No. 1 waiver-wire claim. Considering Allen did register three starts last season it's almost guaranteed he'll at minimum make it on a team's practice squad, but it's unclear as to where he'll fall at the moment.
