Questionable to make NFL debut Aiyuk (hamstring) remained limited Friday at practice and is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Cardinals, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports.

Impact Aiyuk closes out the week with back-to-back limited sessions after being held out entirely Wednesday. Matt Maiocco of NBC Sports Bay Area believes the rookie could have a limited role even if he's active for the season opener, with the hamstring injury and corresponding missed practice time potentially restricting his involvement in the offense. There's also some concern that poor air quality in Santa Clara could force the NFL to relocate or postpone the game, so it's a messy situation all around. With Deebo Samuel (foot) already ruled out, the team has Kendrick Bourne, Trent Taylor, Dante Pettis and Richie James as its healthy options at wide receiver.

Impact Aiyuk took the first step toward being available Week 1 after dealing with a mild left hamstring strain during the later stages of training camp. He seems to have a far better chance of suiting up Week 1 versus the Cardinals that Deebo Samuel (foot), who has yet to practice this week. Friday's injury report could clear up the situation once and for all, but in the end the 49ers' aren't required to make a final decision on Samuel or Aiyuk until 90 minutes before Sunday's 4:25 p.m. ET kickoff.

Either way, the 22-year-old put himself in position to have a role in Kyle Shanahan's offense once he is ready to return after an impressive training camp.
