Not playing once again Jackson (ankle) is listed as inactive for Sunday's game against the Bears.

Impact Jackson was designated to return from IR on Tuesday and failed to practice both Wednesday and Thursday before logging a limited session Friday with ankle and calf injuries. However, the 23-year-old was ultimately ruled inactive for an eighth straight week, and his next shot to suit up comes next Sunday versus the Browns.

Activated but still not practicing Miami activated Jackson (ankle) from injured reserve Tuesday, but he hasn't practiced since Oct. 13, Daniel Oyefusi of the Miami Herald reports.

Impact Jackson was designated to return from IR on Oct. 12 and practiced back-to-back days before being shut down again. The extent of his absence remains unclear, but it seems unlikely he'll play Sunday. Tuesday was the final day he'd be allowed to be activated before reverting to IR, so Miami appears to believe that Jackson will still return at some point this season.

Impact Jackson stayed in uniform but didn't finish the season-opening win over the Patriots due to an ankle injury. Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel said Monday that the 2020 first-round pick could've finished the game in an emergency situation and said Wednesday that Jackson was considered day-to-day. However, the issue doesn't appear to have gotten any better, so Jackson will be forced to sit out at least four games, putting his earliest possible return in Week 6. In his absence, Greg Little will likely take over as Miami's starting right tackle.

Impact Jackson suffered the injury in the Dolphins' win over the Patriots on Sunday. The starting right tackle was supposedly in good enough shape to return to the game if need be, however the team is taking a cautious approach with Jackson heading into Week 2 against the Ravens.
