Positive test for COVID-19 Green was placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list Wednesday due to a positive test of the virus, Josh Weinfuss of ESPN.com reports.
Impact Green's vaccination status is unknown, but his availability for Week 9 at San Francisco now is in question. If he's forced to sit out Sunday's game, the Cardinals will be down a starting wide receiver, leaving them with DeAndre Hopkins (hamstring) Christian Kirk, Rondale Moore, Antoine Wesley and Andy Isabella at the position.

Hits COVID-19 list The Cardinals placed Green (undisclosed) on the reserve/COVID-19 list Wednesday, Field Yates of ESPN reports.
Impact Green was among a number of high-profile players around the league to land on the list Wednesday, and it's unclear if he tested positive for the virus or merely was a close contact of an infected person. In any case, his availability for Sunday's game at San Francisco suddenly is cloudy. With DeAndre Hopkins dealing with a lingering hamstring issue, Christian Kirk, Rondale Moore, Antoine Wesley and Andy Isabella are the Cardinals' healthy and available wide receivers to begin the week.

Was Green Bay's win over the Cardinals a product of their greatness or Arizona's clumsiness?

Involved in game-ending play Green secured five of eight targets for 50 yards in the Cardinals' 24-21 loss to the Packers on Thursday night. He was also the intended receiver on Kyler Murray's game-ending inte...
Impact Green's clutch 23-yard grab on third down with Arizona backed up to its own goal line with 2:46 remaining kickstarted a drive that almost resulted in at least a game-tying field goal for the home squad. However, Green's subsequent failure to look for a Murray pass on a 2nd-and-goal play resulted in a Rasul Douglas interception that clinched the upset win for Green Bay. Green has five receptions in two of the last three contests, and he'll look to atone for his gaffe in a Week 9 road divisional battle against the 49ers a week from Sunday.

Garners three targets Sunday Green gathered in all three targets for 66 yards during Sunday's 31-5 win against the Texans.
Impact All of Green's catches went for at least 10 yards, with the bulk of his production coming on a pretty 41-yard connection with Kyler Murray late in the second quarter to help set up the Cardinals' second touchdown of the contest. The three targets were Green's second fewest in a game this season, as he's received exactly six in five of seven outings. His 35 overall targets rank third on the team behind DeAndre Hopkins' 47 and Christian Kirk's 36, and Arizona only began to integrate newcomer Zach Ertz (five targets) into the mix Sunday. With another mouth to feed in this offense, Green's hits may be more sparse as the season goes on.

Peter Schrager's Cheat Sheet: The Arizona Cardinals are good, and it goes beyond Kyler Murray
Leading receiver for Cards in win Green caught five of six targets for 79 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 37-14 win over the Browns.
Impact The former Bengal led Arizona in receiving yards while tying Christian Kirk for the team lead in catches. Green wrapped up the scoring on the day in the fourth quarter, snagging his third TD of the year on a 14-yard toss from Kyler Murray, and the 33-year-old receiver continues to put together an impressive comeback campaign heading into a potential Week 7 mismatch against the struggling Texans.
OCTOBER 18, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
Season-low one catch Sunday Green gathered in one of two targets for 13 yards during Sunday's 17-10 win against the 49ers.
Impact On the receiving end of six passes in each of the Cardinals' first four games of the season, Green was held in check Week 5. Even counting plays that didn't count in the box score -- his only potential other target, a deep shot early in the second quarter, fell incomplete, but the play was nullified by a defensive holding penalty -- he wouldn't have had a large share in the passing attack that ultimately included just 28 targets in all. Green will look to bounce back next Sunday in Cleveland in what could be a high-scoring affair.

The Arizona Cardinals are trying to improve to 5-0 for the first time since 1974 when they host the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday

Gets back into end zone Green caught five of six targets for 67 yards and a touchdowns in Sunday's 37-20 win over the Rams.
Impact Kyler Murray spread the ball around very effectively, as six different Cardinals caught multiple passes, but Green tied Maxx Williams for the team lead in receptions while tying DeAndre Hopkins for the team lead in receiving yards. The former Bengal looked to be back in peak form on his 41-yard TD grab in the first quarter, as he used his size to haul in a deep ball from Murray and then dragged his defender to the goal line with him. Green has had three productive games in a row while seeing exactly six targets in every game this season, and he'll look to keep turning back the clock in Week 5 against the 49ers.

The Latest: Brady sets NFL's career passing mark

Tom Brady is the NFL’s new all-time passing leader
OCTOBER 3, 2021 • Associated Press
Paces pass catchers in win Green secured five of six targets for 112 yards in the Cardinals' 31-19 win over the Jaguars on Sunday.
Impact The venerable veteran finally looked like himself again after frequently appearing to have lost a step over the last season-plus following a 2019 campaign that was wiped out by injury. Green came down with one of his trademark downfield catches during the contest, hauling in a contested 34-yard throw from Kyler Murray early in the third quarter and also notching a 36-yard grab as well. Green may have well benefited from the limitations of DeAndre Hopkins (ribs) on Sunday, so it will be interesting to see if he can carry his momentum over into a tough Week 4 divisional road matchup against the Rams.

With ex-college coach, No. 1 QB, Cards show path for Jaguars

Urban Meyer probably should ask questions and take notes when Kliff Kingsbury brings his Arizona Cardinals to Jacksonville this weekend
SEPTEMBER 23, 2021 • Associated Press
First TD with Arizona Green gathered in three of six passes for 44 yards and one touchdown during Sunday's 34-33 victory against the Vikings.
Impact In his first two games with the Cardinals, Green is tied for second on the team in terms of targets (12) with DeAndre Hopkins, which is one behind rookie Rondale Moore (13). But among the six Cards with at least eight targets, Green is the only one with a catch rate below 50 percent (41.7 percent, to be precise). At the very least, though, his five grabs have gone for an average of 13.8 yards, and he recorded his first score in an Arizona uniform from nine yards out in the third quarter Sunday. Green and Kyler Murray will attempt to work out the kinks further in a Week 3 contest at Jacksonville.

Sluggish 2021 debut Green caught two receptions for 25 yards on six targets at Tennessee on Sunday.
Impact Green was the only drain on an Arizona passing game that was otherwise ruthlessly effective against the Titans. DeAndre Hopkins, Christian Kirk and Rondale Moore were all almost automatic, so Green will be under some pressure to make an improved showing against the Vikings in Week 2. Luckily for him, six targets is a very small sample and he still has time to get going.

Goes without catch Friday Green (undisclosed) couldn't haul in his only target during Friday's preseason defeat to the Chiefs.
Impact Green made his debut with the Cardinals after sitting out a part of training camp with an undisclosed injury. With DeAndre Hopkins (undisclosed) out Friday, however, the first-team offense has yet to be intact through two exhibitions. With quarterback Kyler Murray a question mark to suit up in preseason Week 3, we may not see the revamped receiving corps together until the season opener Sunday, Sept. 12 at Tennessee, where Hopkins, Green, Christian Kirk and rookie Rondale Moore will be the top four wide receivers in some order.
AUGUST 21, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
Debut with Arizona pushed back Green (undisclosed) likely won't play Friday against the Cowboys, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports.
Impact Green, who has a string of practice absences dating back to the middle of last week due to an unknown injury, is in street clothes moments before Friday's kickoff, as are DeAndre Hopkins (undisclosed) and Kyler Murray. Meanwhile, rookie second-round pick Rondale Moore (undisclosed) took part in pregame warmups, indicating his recent missed practices won't hinder his ability to suit up.

Another missed practice Green (undisclosed) did not practice Friday, Josh Weinfuss of ESPN.com reports.
Impact Green has now missed three straight practices due to an undisclosed issue, as has teammate Rondale Moore (undisclosed). Coach Kliff Kingsbury said both wideouts are working through "something minor."

Misses second day of practice Green (undisclosed) isn't practicing Thursday, Josh Weinfuss of ESPN.com reports.
Impact The 33-year-old will miss a second straight practice with an undisclosed injury that coach Kliff Kingsbury has deemed minor. Fellow Cardinals wideouts DeAndre Hopkins and Christian Kirk also have missed a bunch of practice time this summer, but only Green is adjusting to a new scheme.
