Zaccharie Risacher News, Rumors, Updates - Dallas Mavericks

Strong finish to preseason Risacher recorded 18 points (8-12 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 2-3 FT), five rebounds and four assists across 27 minutes in Friday's 135-111 preseason loss to the Hawks.

Impact Risacher bounced back from a slow start, scoring 14 of his 18 points after halftime while making all six of his second-half field-goal attempts. His efficient shooting and four assists were encouraging signs as he continues adjusting to Dallas' offense. Risacher's role alongside Cooper Flagg and Kyrie Irving will be worth monitoring once the regular season begins, but based on his preseason performances, all signs point to him opening the regular season against the Rockets on Oct. 21 in a starting role.

Loaded stat line Sunday Risacher finished with 16 points (7-13 FG, 2-6 3Pt), three rebounds, two assists, a steal and a block across 24 minutes in Sunday's 132-115 preseason win over the Rockets.

Impact Risacher delivered a productive offensive showing, connecting on seven of his 13 field-goal attempts, and the young forward also chipped in defensively with a steal and a block, finishing with a plus-7 rating. His three turnovers were a minor blemish, but he otherwise displayed encouraging scoring versatility. Risacher's ability to contribute from the perimeter while providing secondary defensive production gives Dallas another wing option, as he looks to deliver a bounce-back year in 2026-27 after a subpar sophomore season in 2025-26. Risacher is competing for minutes on the wing, but this performance is certainly a step in the right direction.

Near double-double as starter Risacher notched nine points (4-9 FG, 1-3 3Pt), eight rebounds, one assist and one steal in 24 minutes during Friday's 135-117 preseason loss to the Rockets.

Impact With the Mavericks shorthanded, new head coach Dusty May started Risacher, Cooper Flagg, Max Christie, Naji Marshall and rookie Morez Johnson during the preseason opener. After falling out of favor in Atlanta, the 2024 No. 1 overall pick is getting a fresh start in Dallas and making the most of his new opportunity. "I feel like we're going to be a good fit, especially on this team. We're going to play fast. We want to go," said Risacher. "We're going to play physical, and I feel like that's going to be a good fit. I like to play off-ball too, so I feel like just me being able to get to the right spot, get space, and finish those actions, that's going to be a big thing."
