Contract expires Labissiere became a free agent Friday after his 10-day contract with the Wizards expired, Keith Smith of Spotrac.com reports.

Impact Washington will have the option of retaining Labissiere on a second 10-day deal, though that may be less of a priority after Tristan Vukcevic (hamstring) made his return to action in Thursday's 126-117 win over the Pistons to provide depth at center behind starter Alex Sarr. Over the course of his 10-day deal, Labissiere appeared in three games and averaged 4.3 points and 3.0 rebounds in 12.7 minutes per contest. Labissiere had been playing with the Wizards' G League affiliate prior to being signed, so he could stick around with the Capital City Go-Go even if Washington elects not to bring him back on another 10-day pact.

Impact Labissiere only logged seven minutes in Wednesday's 132-101 loss to the Knicks, and will now rejoin the Go-Go of the G League. Although he has shown he can be productive in an expanded role for the Wizards, he only received that opportunity due to a number of injuries to the team's frontcourt, and will likely not crack the rotation again unless this happens again.

Impact Labissiere made his first appearance since last being recalled from the G League and just his second so far this season. He impressed off the bench Sunday, as he was one of three Washington reserves to score in double digits. Labissiere presumably entered the rotation due to the absences of Alex Sarr (calf) and Tristan Vukcevic (hamstring), so it would be unwise to expect this type of usage for Labissiere to continue once the frontcourt returns to health.

Impact Cut by Washington during the preseason shortly after he signed with the organization on an Exhibit 10 deal, the 29-year-old Labissiere has spent the entire 2025-26 season to date with the Wizards' G League affiliate, the Capital City Go-Go. The The 6-foot-10, 235-pound Labissiere has been one of the top performing big men on the G League circuit, averaging 19.2 points, 7.8 rebounds, 2.3 blocks, 2.3 three-pointers, 2.0 assists and 0.7 steals in 30.9 minutes per contest while shooting 55.4 percent from the field and 44.1 percent from distance in 26 appearances. Labissiere isn't likely to claim a substantial role with the Wizards, but he could be part of the rotation in the short term as the main backup to starting center Alex Sarr while both Marvin Bagley (back) and Tristan Vukcevic (hamstring) tend to injuries.

Over 28 G League regular-season appearances, Labissiere averaged 15.9 points, 7.9 rebounds and 1.3 blocks in 29.1 minutes per game while shooting 57.6 percent from the field. He'll be competing with the likes of Tristan Vukcevic, Anthony Gill and Marvin Bagley for the backup center role behind Alex Sarr in Washington.
