Done for season Ball (ankle) is set to miss the remainder of the 2022-23 season, sources tell Shams Charania of The Athletic. Impact The Hornets are officially labeling Ball as out indefinitely after he fractured his ankle in Monday's win over the Pistons, but given the nature of the injury, a return at any point during the final six weeks of the season never seemed to be a likely outcome, especially with Charlotte sitting outside of the playoff picture. With Ball out of the mix, fantasy managers in redraft leagues can feel confident in cutting bait. The Hornets haven't clarified their plans for the starting lineup sans Ball, but Terry Rozier could take over as the Hornets' primary point guard, while Dennis Smith and Kelly Oubre are also likely candidates to see added run regardless of which of the two players settles in on the top unit. Ball finishes his third NBA season with averages of 23.3 points, 8.4 assists, 6.4 rebounds, 4.0 three-pointers and 1.3 steals over 35.2 minutes in his 36 appearances.
