Contract guaranteed for 2022-23 Martin had his contract for 2022-23 guaranteed Friday, Tim MacMahon of ESPN.com reports.

Impact Martin's 2023-24 salary remains non-guaranteed, but the Rockets are showing interest in keeping Martin as a significant part of the rebuild. In his 108 games, he's averaged 9.0 points on 6.8 shots, 4.5 rebounds and 1.3 assists in 21.9 minutes.

Double-doubles in first start Martin totaled 17 points (7-12 FG, 3-6 3Pt), 11 rebounds and three assists over 40 minutes during Wednesday's 139-130 overtime win over the Lakers.

Impact The 21-year-old made his first start of the season with Jae'Sean Tate (ankle) sidelined, and he came through with his first double-double of the campaign. Martin has scored in double figures in each of the past two games and should continue to have an increased role until Tate is cleared to return.

Impact The 21-year-old will make his first start of the season Wednesday with Christian Wood (illness) and Jae'Sean Tate (ankle) ruled out for the contest. Martin has averaged 10.8 points, 3.8 rebounds and 2.0 assists in 24.4 minutes over the past five games, but he should be in line for more run versus Los Angeles given Houston's absences in the frontcourt.

Impact Martin bounced back from a two-point effort in his last outing to notch his 27th double-digit scoring performance of the season. He also registered a season-high three steals during the loss. He played 30-plus minutes for just the fourth time during the campaign.

Impact After Jae'Sean Tate's night ended early due to an ankle injury, Martin stepped in to fill most of the minutes at power forward and finished with what may have been his best fantasy line of the season. The second-year forward has flashed this sort of multi-category upside on the few occasions he's handled big minutes loads in the past, so he could make for an intriguing speculative pickup if Tate misses more time. Even before Tate suffered the injury, Martin had been angling for a larger role, as he entered Wednesday's contest with averages of 10.4 points, 3.1 rebounds, 1.4 three-pointers and 1.1 assists in 22.6 minutes over the prior seven contests.

Impact Martin finished with his highest point total thus far in February and shot an efficient 6-for-9 from the field. He was nearly invisible elsewhere on the stat sheet, however, despite logging a healthy 26 minutes. Martin averaged 6.5 boards over his previous two games, so fantasy managers can expect a bit more in that area than he showed Monday.

Productive in blowout loss Martin ended with 13 points (6-7 FG, 1-1 3Pt, 0-1 FT), eight rebounds, two assists and two steals across 29 minutes during Tuesday's 134-104 loss to the Spurs.

Impact Martin saw plenty of run in the big loss, and he demonstrated what sort of fantasy upside he has on a per-minute basis. However, he's unlikely to see more than minutes in the high-teens to low-20s unless there's a frontcourt injury and/or the team is in another blowout situation. Still, due to the occasional outburst, Martin has fringe fantasy relevance in deep leagues.
