Chicago faces Charlotte, looks to halt 7-game slide
Chicago enters the matchup with Charlotte after losing seven straight games

Muted role continues
Carter ended with 13 points (4-8 FG, 3-5 3Pt, 2-2 FT), one rebound, two assists and three steals over 22 minutes during Sunday's 123-91 loss to the Warriors.
Impact
The Bulls are still dealing with plenty of injuries, but they seem comfortable with Carter playing a strict reserve role. The veteran point guard has averaged 6.9 points, 1.4 rebounds and 1.2 assists in 14.3 minutes per contest over 14 games.

Sees 16 minutes in loss
Carter logged six points (2-8 FG, 0-4 3Pt, 2-2 FT), three rebounds and one assist across 16 minutes during Wednesday's 113-103 loss to the Nets.
Impact
The Bulls have been hit pretty hard by injuries, but Carter is still being used quite sparingly. Over his last four appearances, he's seeing 10.5 minutes per contest with 2.8 points and 1.3 assists per game.

ROTOWIRE
Cashes three triples in loss
Carter accumulated 11 points (4-7 FG, 3-6 3Pt), one rebound, one assist and one steal over 18 minutes during Monday's 143-130 loss to the Pelicans.
Impact
Carter's offensive production has been very inconsistent, as he has logged duds every other game after turning in a solid shooting performance. He remains buried in the depth chart behind Josh Giddey, Coby White and Tre Jones, but still finds himself in the rotation.

Big night from downtown
Carter posted 15 points (5-13 FG, 5-10 3Pt), four rebounds and one assist in 18 minutes off the bench during Monday's 130-127 victory over the Nuggets.
Impact
The five threes were a season high for Carter, albeit in only his fourth game, and it was his best showing from beyond the arc since March 31 of last season. The journeyman guard seems to have found a home as a depth option in the Chicago backcourt after playing for four different teams in his first five years in the NBA, but with Coby White (calf) getting close to resuming a full workload, Carter will likely head back to the end of the bench in short order.

Season-high 17 minutes
Carter finished with 11 points (3-4 FG, 3-3 3Pt, 2-2 FT), two rebounds, three assists and two steals over 17 minutes during Wednesday's 124-113 loss to the Pistons.
Impact
Carter had arguably his best game in the past 12 months, an indication of how muted his role has become. Chicago was once again without Josh Giddey (ankle), allowing Cater to move into a somewhat meaningful role. While it was great to see the veteran holding his own, this is likely nothing more than an outlier, based on what we have seen from him in recent times.

ROTOWIRE
Adds two assists in loss
Carter produced zero points (0-1 FG, 0-1 3Pt) and two assists across 12 minutes during Sunday's 128-116 loss to the Knicks.
Impact
Carter made his season debut Sunday against New York, and while he was unable to produce in his first game, it is worth noting that he is probably getting back to speed after not playing since the preseason. Carter will likely continue backing up Tre Jones until Coby White (calf) returns.

Another strong showing
Carter logged 17 points (7-11 FG, 3-6 3Pt), four rebounds and three assists in 22 minutes of Tuesday's 124-117 preseason loss to Denver.
Impact
Despite some very modest workloads, Carter has been an obvious standout during the preseason. Through four games, he's averaging 13.3 points, 2.0 rebounds, 2.0 assists, 0.8 steals and 3.0 three-pointers in just 16.4 minutes per contest. He's firmly behind Josh Giddey and Tre Jones at point guard, but Carter is proving that he'll be ready when his name is called.

Plays well in win
Carter delivered 14 points (5-7 FG, 4-5 3Pt), two rebounds and one steal in 12 minutes during Thursday's 119-112 preseason win over the Cavaliers.
Impact
Carter has been used sparingly in the preseason so far, though he's made the most of his minutes. Through two games, he's seeing 11.8 minutes per contest with averages of 12.0 points, 1.5 rebounds, 1.0 assists and 3.0 three-pointers on 64.3 percent shooting from the field. He's not guaranteed a role for Opening Night, but he's doing everything he can on his end.

To exercise option
Carter will exercise his $6.8 million player option for the 2025-26 season, NBA reporter Jake Fischer reports.
Impact
This was always the expectation for Carter. The veteran guard made a total of 36 regular-season appearances in 2024-25, posting averages of 4.3 points, 1.1 assists and 1.1 rebounds in 8.9 minutes per contest. He could struggle to land a rotation role in 2025-26.

Bench role against Miami
Carter will come off the bench during Wednesday's game against the Heat.
Impact
After being a starter for the first time for Chicago in the loss to the Cavaliers on Tuesday, Carter will return to the second unit Wednesday against Miami. In 33 games off the bench this season, Carter has averaged 7.6 points, 3.9 rebounds and 1.0 assists per game, shooting 41.1 percent from the field.

Starting against Cleveland
Carter is in the starting five for Tuesday's game versus the Cavaliers.
Impact
Carter will replace Josh Giddey (forearm) in the starting lineup Tuesday. Carter has only played more than 20 minutes in two games this season, so it's unclear how much playing time he will receive.

Carter (shoulder) is available for Friday's game versus the Trail Blazers, Cody Westerlund of 670TheScore.com reports.
Impact

Dealing with shoulder issue
Carter (shoulder) is questionable for Tuesday's game against the Raptors.
Impact
Carter picked up some rare minutes in garbage time during Monday's 145-117 loss to Oklahoma City, finishing with 17 points (6-14 FG, 5-11 3Pt), two rebounds and three assists across 18 minutes. If Carter is unable to go, Talen Horton-Tucker could see increased run with the Bulls submitting a very lengthy injury report.

Scores 17 points in loss
Carter posted 17 points (6-14 FG, 5-11 3Pt), two rebounds and three assists across 18 minutes during Monday's 145-117 loss to Oklahoma City.
Impact
The Bulls were blown out of this contest, allowing Carter to see some rare reps in garbage time. He's been used sparingly in recent contests, playing just five times in March for an average of 10.8 minutes. This performance will likely go down as an outlier.
