Puts up 20 points in loss Fears produced 20 points (8-15 FG, 2-6 3Pt, 2-2 FT), six rebounds, four assists and two steals across 22 minutes of Tuesday's 130-128 preseason loss to the Rockets.

Impact This was close to a dress rehearsal from the Pelicans, although the minutes were spread out pretty evenly across the board. Fears and Saddiq Bey appeared to be the primary weapons for the second unit, and the rookie once again wasn't shy from the field with 15 shot attempts to lead the team. The No. 7 overall pick in the 2025 NBA Draft, Fears is likely to have a big opportunity early on with Dejounte Murray (Achilles) likely out until at least January.

Efficient in win Saturday Fears ended Saturday's 127-92 exhibition game win over the Melbourne Phoenix with 12 points (5-10 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 1-1 FT), three assists and one rebound across 24 minutes.

Impact After coming off the bench in Friday's win over Melbourne United and shooting just 3-for-15 from the field, Fears bounced back in the starting lineup. The No. 7 overall pick in the 2025 NBA Draft is expected to take on a meaningful role off the bench this season, especially with Dejounte Murray (Achilles) not expected to return until at least January.

Attempts 15 shots in win Fears logged seven points (3-15 FG, 0-6 3Pt, 1-2 FT), three rebounds, three assists and five turnovers in 22 minutes of Friday's 107-97 preseason win over Melbourne United.

Impact Fears came off the bench, but he certainly wasn't shy. He led the team in shot attempts pretty comfortably, and it's vehemently clear that he's going to have the green light on offense. This was a poor showing, however, and the learning curve for rookie guards is steep. It will be interesting to see how quickly he finds his footing with the second unit.

Drops 22 points in SL loss Fears tallied 22 points (8-15 FG, 1-5 3Pt, 5-8 FT), six rebounds and six assists across 30 minutes in Wednesday's 95-81 Summer League loss to the Thunder.

Impact Fears connected on just one three-pointer but delivered an efficient all-around scoring performance Wednesday in what's been an up-and-down Summer League. The No. 7 pick in the 2025 NBA Draft was viewed as a high-upside, high-risk prospect, so some early inconsistency is to be expected.
