Loses two-way contract
Smart was waived from his two-way deal Saturday, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports.
Impact
Smart's two-way slot will instead be filled by Kenneth Lofton, who was recently let go by the Grizzlies. Despite Smart's two-way status, he had only logged one NBA minute this season, and will likely remain an important piece for the 76ers G League Affiliate unless another team picks him up.

Upgraded to two-way deal
The 76ers converted Smart's Exhibit 10 deal to a two-way contract Saturday, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports.
Impact
Smart will join undrafted rookies Terquavion Smith and Azuolas Tubelis as the 76ers' three two-way players. The 24-year-old guard last saw NBA action in 2021-22, when he made 17 appearances between the Heat and Bucks and averaged 3.0 points and 1.4 rebounds in 11.8 minutes. Though he'll be eligible to suit up for at least 50 of the 76ers' 82 games while under the two-way deal, Smart is likely to see the majority of his playing time with the G League's Delaware Blue Coats.

Scores 20 points off bench
Smart registered 20 points (8-14 FG, 4-8 3Pt), five rebounds, one assist, one block and one steal across 34 minutes during Sunday's 125-111 loss to the Magic.
Impact
Smart played 44 minutes back in December, but he had barely seen the court since then. He took advantage of having a bigger role since Miami was resting several regulars in the season finale, but he's not expected to be a factor come playoff time. He ended the regular season with averages of 3.0 points and 1.4 rebounds per game in just 17 appearances with the Heat and Bucks.

Nabs two-way deal from Miami
Smart agreed Tuesday with the Heat on a two-way contract, Anthony Chiang of the Miami Herald reports.
Impact
Smart joins Kyle Guy as the second two-way player on the Heat roster, after Miami upgraded Caleb Martin (Achilles) to a standard NBA deal Tuesday. The undrafted rookie out of LSU previously joined the Heat out of training camp, but he made his NBA debut with the Bucks earlier in the season, appearing in 13 games at the NBA level and averaging 2.4 points, 1.5 rebounds and 1.1 assists in 12.3 minutes per contest. After Milwaukee cut Smart from his two-way deal in January, Smart rejoined the Heat's G League affiliate in Sioux Falls. Before agreeing to his two-way contract with Miami, Smart submitted another big outing for Sioux Falls on Tuesday, erupting for a career-high 40 points (11-18 FG, 8-13 3Pt, 6-6 FT) to go with six assists, four rebounds, one steal and one block across 33 minutes in a 130-119 win over the Rio Grande Valley Vipers.
