GAME LOG

Eric Gordon - Out Friday Gordon will miss Friday's game against the Mavericks due to a left thumb contusion, Adam Spolane of Sports Radio 610 Houston reports.
Impact Gordon will get the night off Friday to let his thumb heal ahead of the team's road trip that features three- games across four days. In his absence, Kenyon Martin and Tari Eason will likely receive extended action. Gordon's next chance to suit up will come Monday against the Bulls.

Darius Days - Rejoins Rockets The Rockets recalled Days from Rio Grande Valley on Thursday, Adam Wexler of Sportstalk 790 Houston reports.
Impact Days hasn't appeared in a game for the Rockets this season, and it doesn't seem like that will change in the coming contests. He should continue to split his time between the two levels.
DECEMBER 22, 2022 • ROTOWIRE
Josh Christopher - Recalled to Rockets The Rockets recalled Christopher from the Rio Grande Valley Vipers of the G League on Thursday, Adam Wexler of Sportstalk 790 Houston reports.
Impact Christopher will return to the Rockets after a brief stint in the G League. The second-year guard has had a minimal role in the NBA this season, playing just 7.0 minutes per game across 18 contests.

Doncic, Dallas set for matchup against Houston

Kenyon Martin Jr. - Improved effort in loss Wednesday Martin finished Wednesday's 116-110 loss to Orlando with 18 points (7-11 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 2-2 FT), five rebounds and four assists across 28 minutes.
Impact Martin scored 18 points in the loss, the most he has scored in almost a month. As with many of his teammates, Martin's role typically changes from one night to the next, making him a hard player to trust outside of deeper formats. Those in 12-team leagues could consider him for streaming purposes when in need of an efficient scorer who can chip in a few boards here and there.
DECEMBER 22, 2022 • ROTOWIRE
Tari Eason - Muted performance Wednesday Eason registered nine points (2-4 FG, 2-3 3Pt, 3-4 FT), three rebounds and one assist over 21 minutes during Wednesday's 116-110 loss to the Magic.
Impact Eason turned in one of his more disappointing performances in recent memory, continuing what has been a frustrating season for fantasy managers. Despite a demonstrated ability to contribute across multiple categories, his playing time remains underwhelming, to the point where he should be viewed as more of a luxury stash than a viable 12-team asset. He's now scored in singe digits five times in December.
DECEMBER 22, 2022 • ROTOWIRE
Kevin Porter Jr. - Pops for season-high 31 points Porter chipped in 31 points (12-19 FG, 5-9 3Pt, 2-3 FT), six rebounds, five assists, one block and three steals across 35 minutes during Wednesday's 116-110 loss to the Magic.
Impact Porter put together his best performance of the season despite the loss, headlined by a season-high 31 points including five triples. Despite a few ups and downs thus far this season, Porter has been able to carve out what is looking like his best fantasy season to date. The points and assists often grab all the attention but it has been his work on the defensive end that has surprised many. He is currently averaging 1.5 steals per game across the season, taking that up a notch with 2.3 steals per game over the past two weeks.

Banchero, Wagner, Anthony lead Magic in win over Rockets to close out road trip For most of Wednesday’s 116-110 win over the Houston Rockets, the Orlando Magic looked like a team closing out a four-game road trip.

Garrison Mathews - Won't play Wednesday Mathews (illness) is out for Wednesday's matchup with the Magic.
Impact Mathews's absence will extend to three games due to a non-COVID illness. His next opportunity to play will be Friday's game versus Dallas.
DECEMBER 21, 2022 • ROTOWIRE
Eric Gordon - Logs 28 minutes in loss Gordon accumulated five points (2-7 FG, 1-2 3Pt), one assist and one steal in 28 minutes during Monday's 124-105 loss to the Spurs.
Impact Gordon continues to play significant minutes, adding to what is simply a confusing situation in Houston. Even though the Rockets are in rebuilding mode, the soon-to-be 34-year-old Gordon is averaging 29.5 minutes per contest, making it difficult for the team to open up more playing time for the likes of Josh Christopher, Tari Eason, Kenyon Martin and others. Since his contract for the 2023-24 season isn't guaranteed, Gordon could be a prime candidate to be moved ahead of the trade deadline. If he does end up being dealt, Gordon is unlikely to land with a team where he'll be able to fill as large of a role as he's currently handling in Houston.
DECEMBER 20, 2022 • ROTOWIRE
Alperen Sengun - Scores team-high 22 points Sengun posted 22 points (8-10 FG, 6-8 FT), four rebounds, three assists, one block and one steal across 24 minutes during Monday's 124-105 loss to the Spurs.
Impact Sengun put up a great line in the loss, although still only played 24 minutes. Head coach Stephen Silas simply refuses to give Sengun starters minutes, just another in a long line of confusing decisions. While Sengun is a clear must-roster player across all formats, there is some concern he may not be given the opportunity to reach his ceiling anytime soon. Until Silas stops persisting with Usman Garuba and Bruno Fernando, managers are just going to have to accept the here and now.
DECEMBER 20, 2022 • ROTOWIRE
Daishen Nix - Nine assists, three steals in loss Nix ended with four points (2-7 FG, 0-4 3Pt), three rebounds, nine assists and three steals across 24 minutes during Monday's 124-105 loss to the Spurs.
Impact Nix handed out a career-high nine assists in the loss, logging more than 20 minutes for just the fourth time this season. He continues to play backup minutes over Tyty Washington, something that could eventually change should the coaching staff opt to utilize some common sense. While he has been playing regular minutes, Nix should be viewed as nothing more than an assists streamer in deeper formats.

Garrison Mathews - Listed out Monday Mathews (illness) will remain out Monday against the Spurs.
Impact Mathews will miss a second straight game as he battles a non-COVID illness. He hasn't been much of a fantasy consideration this season, so his absence Monday won't have a major impact on the Rockets' rotation.
DECEMBER 19, 2022 • ROTOWIRE
Alperen Sengun - Low minutes again Saturday Sengun (ankle) finished with 10 points (4-11 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 2-2 FT), eight rebounds and three blocks in 21 minutes in Saturday's 107-95 loss to the Trail Blazers.
Impact A right ankle sprain resulted in Sengun being listed as probable ahead of Saturday's contest, and though he was ultimately able to play, the injury may have affected his playing time. Sengun's low minutes weren't motivated by foul trouble -- he committed just one on the night -- as head coach Stephen Silas instead elected to keep a three-man center rotation in place that also featured Bruno Fernando and Usman Garuba. Sengun hasn't cleared 28 minutes in any of his last five outings.
DECEMBER 18, 2022 • ROTOWIRE
Garrison Mathews - Sits out practice Sunday Mathews (illness) didn't practice Sunday, Danielle Lerner of the Houston Chronicle reports.
Impact Mathews hasn't yet been ruled out for Monday's game against the Spurs, but he'll likely need to participate in shootaround that day to have a shot at ending his one-game absence. Even if he's available to play Monday, Mathews is likely to hold only a small role in the rotation.

Johnson, Spurs to visit Green, Rockets

Houston and San Antonio will square off in a matchup of Western Conference foes
DECEMBER 18, 2022 • Associated Press
Jalen Green - Struggles to find shooting touch Green amassed 15 points (5-16 FG, 0-6 3Pt, 5-9 FT), five rebounds, four assists and one block in 31 minutes during Saturday's 107-95 loss to the Trail Blazers.
Impact Green failed to hit a shot from beyond the arc for the first time since Dec. 8, but he still managed to reach 15 points. He also made an impact on the glass and has now secured five or more rebounds in each of his last four matchups. The 20-year-old is averaging 21.6 points, 4.2 rebounds and 3.8 assists through 29 appearances so far this season.
DECEMBER 18, 2022 • ROTOWIRE
TyTy Washington Jr. - Decent all-around production Washington produced six points (3-6 FG, 0-2 3Pt), three rebounds, two assists and one steal across 15 minutes during Saturday's 107-95 loss to the Trail Blazers.
Impact Washington did his job off the bench in this one and has now handled playing time in each of his last two contests since being recalled from the G League. He managed to make an impact across the board and also recorded his first steal of the season. Washington will likely struggle to see consistent minutes going forward, however, as he's sitting behind Kevin Porter, Daishen Nix, Josh Christopher and Jalen Green on the depth chart.
