Usman Garuba - Slated to miss at least a week Coach Stephen Silas said Friday that Garuba (ankle) will be re-evaluated in a week, Cayleigh Griffin of AT&T SportsNet Southwest reports.
Impact Garuba turned his ankle in Sunday's loss to the Pelicans, and the injury is considered more serious than a day-to-day issue. Silas is hopeful that the rookie will be back in action prior to the end of the regular season, but he'll likely be forced to miss at least three more games before he's re-evaluated.

Impact Garuba made his return Sunday from a long-term wrist injury, but he's suffered a sprained ankle and will be out Friday. His next chance to take the court is Sunday against the Grizzlies.

Kevin Porter Jr. - Dishes out eight dimes Porter registered 21 points (7-15 FG, 5-10 3Pt, 2-2 FT), four rebounds, eight assists, two blocks and two steals across 36 minutes during Wednesday's 129-112 loss to the Suns.
Impact Porter has been playing well since missing four of five games in a span between Feb. 16 and March 1, scoring in double digits in six of eight contests in that stretch while posting two double-doubles and dishing out five or more dimes five times across that same span. The consistency and efficiency remain an issue with him, but Porter is averaging 16.3 points, 6.0 assists and 4.6 rebounds across that eight-game stretch.

Impact Wood ended just one rebound away from posting a double-double, but he hasn't been playing well since returning from a three-game absence due to illness. The big man hasn't recorded a double-double since Mar. 6, but he's still averaging 19.5 points and 10.2 rebounds per game across six appearances this month.

Garuba produced well during his limited minutes, and with the Rockets firmly out of contention as the season winds down, it's possible the 20-year-old first-round pick gets a longer look. Before making his return from a seven-week absence due to a fractured left wrist, Garuba had made only 14 appearances on the season for Houston, averaging 1.4 points, 2.4 rebounds and 0.6 assists in 7.3 minutes.

However, over the past month, he has upped that to almost 49 percent, while also increasing his shot attempts. The Rockets are fully invested in Green and so he should have a clear runway to minutes ROS.

Impact Wood returned to action Sunday but was unable to deliver the kind of performance managers would have been hoping for. The Rockets were torn apart by the Pelicans, resulting in limited minutes for all of the starters, Wood included. Given the Rockets are playing for very little, knowing what they are going to do with their rotation moving forward is riddled with uncertainty. Wood remains a must-roster player but it wouldn't be surprising to see his production fluctuate the rest of the way, much like it has all season.
