Active at charity stripe Monday Barnes ended with 19 points (3-8 FG, 3-7 3Pt, 10-12 FT), two rebounds and one assist over 23 minutes in Monday's 119-109 preseason loss to Utah.

Impact Barnes finished as San Antonio's second-leading scorer, fueled by frequent trips to the charity stripe. The veteran forward started Monday with Tobias Harris (calf), Devin Vassell (rest) and Carter Bryant (ankle) sidelined, but he figures to hold down a reserve role during the regular season. In 77 regular-season appearances in 2025-26, Barnes averaged 10.0 points, 2.8 rebounds and 1.9 assists in 25.8 minutes per contest.

Starting Monday Barnes will start in Monday's exhibition against the Jazz, Tom Orsborn of the San Antonio Express-News reports.

Impact Devin Vassell (rest) and Carter Bryant (ankle) are out for Monday's preseason game, so Barnes will draw a spot-start. As a starter last season, Barnes averaged 10.7 points, 2.1 assists and 1.9 triples per contest.

Lands two triples in preseason loss Barnes tallied six points (2-5 FG, 2-5 3Pt) and one steal in 17 minutes during Saturday's 102-98 preseason loss to Phoenix.

Impact Barnes was barely visible in the loss, an indication of what is likely to come this season. Although he does provide the team with a valid floor-spacing option, a lack of peripheral stats severely limits his overall upside. At best, he could be streamed in for threes, although only when desperate.

OCTOBER 11 • ROTOWIRE

Posts modest line Barnes finished with seven points (2-5 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 2-2 FT), two rebounds, two assists, one steal and one block in 17 minutes during Thursday's 123-116 preseason loss to Atlanta.

Impact Barnes delivered a modest but well-rounded performance in limited action, contributing defensively while connecting on one three-pointer. The veteran forward should continue providing San Antonio with experience and perimeter shooting, though his offensive opportunities could be limited within a rotation featuring several emerging young players.

Impact Barnes was the Spurs' starter for the majority of the 2025-26 regular season before being moved to a bench role in early February. However, Barnes will return to the Spurs for the upcoming season and will provide the team with veteran depth in the frontcourt.
