Sticks in rotation Thursday
Dieng accumulated two points (1-4 FG, 0-2 3Pt), two rebounds and one assist across seven minutes during Thursday's 138-100 loss to the Clippers.
Impact
Dieng saw action for the third straight game, although he hasn't had much of an impact when he's been on the court. After signing a second 10-day contract a week ago, Dieng has remained on the fringe of the rotation, basically seeing minutes when the game is over. Clearly, there is nothing to report here in terms of fantasy value.

Lands another 10-day contract
Dieng is signing a second 10-day contract with the Spurs on Friday, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports.
Impact
Dieng signed a 10-day contract with the Spurs on Jan. 8 but played just one minute in his lone appearance over the last week and a half. His continued presence with San Antonio shouldn't impact the team's rotation.

Moves back to bench
Dieng will come off the bench for Wednesday's game against the Pelicans, Jim Eichenhofer of the Pelicans' official site reports.
Impact
With Jakob Poeltl (knee) rejoining the lineup following a one-game absence, Dieng will shift back to his usual reserve role Wednesday. In nine appearances, Dieng has averaged 4.0 points, 2.8 rebounds and 1.8 assists across 10.8 minutes per contest.

ROTOWIRE
Grabs seven rebounds in spot start
Dieng supplied seven points (3-6 FG, 1-3 3Pt), seven rebounds and three assists across 21 minutes during Sunday's 123-92 loss to the Lakers.
Impact
With Jakob Poeltl (knee) taking a seat for the back-to-back, Dieng stepped in and logged 21 minutes. The Spurs brought Dieng back to San Antonio after a year away with the Hawks. He's only appeared in nine games this season, and it would likely take an injury or roster shake-up for Dieng to be fantasy-relevant.

Starting for Poeltl
Dieng will start Sunday's game against the Lakers.
Impact
With Jakob Poeltl (knee) sitting the second half of the back-to-back, Dieng will get the nod at center for his first NBA start since midway through last season. The veteran big man has been a fringe rotation option thus far for the Spurs, but he should be set for a notable bump in minutes Sunday.

Dishes out two dimes
Dieng accumulated one rebound and two assists over two minutes during Wednesday's 134-122 loss to Minnesota.
Impact
Dieng had no field-goal attempts during Wednesday's defeat, but he still worked as a distributor during his minimal playing time. He's appeared in three of the Spurs' first five games this year and has averaged 2.3 points, 1.7 rebounds and 2.7 assists in 7.7 minutes per game.

ROTOWIRE
Near double-double in loss
Dieng amassed 10 points (4-7 FG, 2-5 3Pt), nine rebounds, four assists and two steals in 21 minutes in a 111-98 loss to New Orleans on Sunday.
Impact
Dieng scored seven points in the second quarter, making all three of his shots, and pulling down three rebounds. After playing just nine minutes in his preseason debut Thursday, the 32-year-old filled the box score in his 21 minutes Sunday. He has made 42.8 percent of his three-point shots over the last two seasons and is 3-for-6 from beyond the arc this preseason. Dieng signed a contract with the Spurs in July after playing last season in Atlanta and should get some playing time backing up Jakob Poeltl at center.

Heading back to San Antonio
Dieng and the Spurs agreed Tuesday on a one-year contract, Shams Charania of The Athletic reports.
Impact
Dieng will prepare for his second stint in San Antonio, after he previously spent the tail end of the 2020-21 campaign with the club following his release from the Grizzlies. He joined Atlanta on a one-year pact for the 2021-22 campaign and appeared in 44 games, averaging 3.5 points, 2.8 rebounds, 0.8 assists, 0.7 three-pointers, 0.3 blocks and 0.3 steals. The veteran center will help restore some depth for the Spurs in the frontcourt after San Antonio recently dealt big man Jock Landale to Phoenix.

Not on injury report
Dieng (personal) isn't on the injury report for Saturday's game against the Raptors, Chris Kirschner of The Athletic reports.
Impact
Dieng missed Thursday's game against Chicago due to personal reasons, but he'll be available against the Raptors. However, he hasn't been a consistent part of Atlanta's rotation recently.

Out Thursday
Dieng is out Thursday due to personal reasons, Brad Rowland of PeachtreeHoops.com reports.
Impact
Dieng hasn't been a consistent part of the rotation since late December, and that's unlikely to change even when he returns. Clint Capela and Onyeka Okongwu continue to hold things down at center.

Scores eight points in blowout
Dieng posted eight points (3-4 FG, 2-2 3Pt) and six rebounds in eight minutes during Tuesday's 133-112 win over Indiana.
Impact
Dieng saw his first game action since Jan. 28 thanks to the Hawks' comfortable lead for the majority of the game. The veteran big man registered at least eight points and six rebounds for the first time since Oct. 21. Barring garbage time, Dieng doesn't figure to be a part of Atlanta's rotation moving forward.

Available vs. Heat
Dieng (illness) will be available for Friday's matchup against the Heat, Kevin Chouinard of the Hawks' official site reports.
Impact
With Clint Capela back from a six-game absence, Dieng's role will presumably be reduced heavily, though with Capela on a minutes limit Friday, Dieng could still see some run. He'll be competing with Onyeka Okongwu for backup minutes.

ROTOWIRE
Questionable against Miami
Dieng is questionable for Friday's game against Miami due to a non-COVID illness, Brad Rowland of PeachtreeHoops.com reports.
Impact
Dieng has played a minimal role across the last two games, as he's totaled an assist and a block in four minutes during that time. If his illness prevents him from suiting up Friday, his absence shouldn't significantly impact Atlanta's rotation.

ROTOWIRE
Shifts to bench role
Dieng isn't starting Monday's game against the Bucks, Chris Kirschner of The Athletic reports.
Impact
Dieng served as a starter in each of the last two games but averaged just 4.5 points and 4.5 rebounds in 14.0 minutes per contest. Onyeka Okongwu will join the starting five Monday.

Plays just 15 minutes despite start
Dieng finished with two points (1-2 FG, 0-1 3Pt), four rebounds, one block and one steal in 15 minutes during Friday's 124-118 loss to the Heat.
Impact
Dieng was a non-factor in the loss, although he did manage to rack up a pair of defensive stats. It's unclear whether this was simply a matchup-based decision or if Dieng will hold on to the starting role until Clint Capela returns from injury. Onyeka Okongwu (five points, six rebounds, two blocks, one assist and one steal) was solid in his 16 minutes, and if he can at least hold down that kind of a role the rest of the way, he's a name to consider in deeper formats.

Starting Friday
Dieng will draw the start at center in Friday's matchup with the Heat, Chris Kirschner of The Athletic reports.
Impact
