Goga Bitadze News, Rumors, Updates - Orlando Magic

Solid in reserve role Bitadze finished with seven points (3-4 FG, 1-2 FT), two rebounds and one block in 13 minutes during Wednesday's 122-118 preseason victory over Memphis.

Impact Bitadze was efficient around the basket but saw limited playing time behind Orlando's other frontcourt options. With Nikola Vucevic also competing for minutes, Bitadze could face challenges securing a consistent rotation role.

Strong effort in win Bitadze recorded 23 points (8-18 FG, 3-7 3Pt, 4-5 FT), eight rebounds, two assists, one steal and two blocks in 30 minutes during Georgia's 101-74 win over Montenegro in Friday's F...

Impact The 27-year-old averaged 5.9 points and 5.0 rebounds while shooting 67.6 percent from the field during the 2025-26 regular season, but his path to playing time has become even more crowded following the Magic's offseason addition of Nikola Vucevic. With Vucevic and Wendell Carter both in the mix at center, Bitadze may struggle to see enough minutes to provide consistent fantasy value in 2026-27.

AUGUST 31 • ROTOWIRE

Absent from rotation in Game 7 Bitadze averaged 5.9 points, 5.0 rebounds and 1.3 assists in 15.2 minutes per game over 64 regular-season appearances during 2025-26.

Impact Although Bitadze played the backup center role behind Wendell Carter for much of the year, he wasn't part of Orlando's Game 7 rotation versus the Pistons. Moritz Wagner, who served as the No. 2 big man Sunday, is an impending free agent this summer, so Bitadze could end up reprising a similar role in 2026-27.

Second straight double-double Bitadze finished Friday's 127-103 win over Chicago with 15 points (6-7 FG, 3-3 FT), 11 rebounds, two blocks and one steal across 17 minutes.

Impact Bitadze recorded his second straight double-double, taking advantage of an understrength opponent. Although it has been a nice stretch for Bitadze, there is no reason to suspect his role is likely to change moving forward. He should continue to serve as the primary backup behind Wendell Carter, typically playing no more than about 15 minutes per game.

APRIL 11 • ROTOWIRE

Massive double-double in win Bitadze registered 14 points (6-11 FG, 2-2 FT), 15 rebounds, six assists and one steal across 22 minutes during Wednesday's 132-120 win over the Timberwolves.

Impact Bitadze took advantage of the fact that the Timberwolves were without Julius Randle (handle) and Rudy Gobert (rest) to dominate the paint, and he delivered a strong double-double coming off the bench. Wendell Carter will remain the starter for the Magic, but Bitadze has proven he can deliver solid numbers when needed. He's averaging 10.5 points, 7.9 rebounds, 1.9 assists and 1.2 blocks per game in the 10 outings in which he's logged at least 20 minutes this season.

Increased role Monday Bitadze posted nine points (4-6 FG, 1-2 FT), four rebounds, one assist, three blocks and one steal in 24 minutes during Monday's 123-107 victory over the Pistons.

Impact Bitadze logged at least 20 minutes for the first time in his past 17 appearances, shifting up in the rotation after Wendell Carter was forced from the game due to a neck injury. While it has been a disappointing season for Bitadze, the final week of action could end up being his best stretch, should Carter be forced to miss additional time. Assuming that is the case, managers should view Bitadze as a strong stream candidate.

Bumped back to bench Bitadze will come off the bench for Saturday's game against the Lakers.

Impact Bitadze started in place of Wendell Carter on Thursday, but now that Carter is healthy, Bitadze will retreat to a reserve role. Bitadze has played eight or fewer minutes in each of his last five games as a reserve.

MARCH 21 • ROTOWIRE

Starting sans Carter Bitadze is in the starting lineup for Thursday's game against the Hornets.

Impact Bitadze is filling in for the injured Wendell Carter (rib) on Thursday. It'll be the third start of the season for Bitadze, who has averaged 11.5 points, 9.5 rebounds, 1.5 assists, 1.5 steals and 1.5 blocks in 26.8 minutes per game with the first unit.

MARCH 19 • ROTOWIRE

Muted role continues Bitadze closed Monday's 124-112 loss to Atlanta with four points (2-3 FG), three rebounds and one assist over five minutes.

Impact Bitadze continues to serve as the third-string center, having seen the court only six times in the past 12 games. During that time, he has averaged just 4.8 points and 3.7 rebounds, making him a non-factor in most fantasy formats.

MARCH 17 • ROTOWIRE

Exits rotation Wednesday Bitadze (coach's decision) went unused off the bench Wednesday in the Magic's 128-122 win over the Cavaliers.

Impact Bitadze had seen action in each of the Magic's previous four games, but his most recent two appearances had come in garbage time at the end of blowouts. With Wednesday's contest remaining competitive throughout, Bitadze failed to get off the bench while Moritz Wagner handled all the backup center minutes behind starter Wendell Carter. So long as Carter and Wagner are available, Bitadze is unlikely to be featured in the rotation.

MARCH 12 • ROTOWIRE

Moving to bench Bitadze will come off the bench Thursday against the Mavericks.

Impact Bitadze drew a spot start Tuesday with Wendell Carter sidelined, but Carter has been given the green light to take the court Thursday. Bitadze has struggled to remain in the rotation over the last few months, but he could see playing time Thursday given that Jonathan Isaac (knee) is out.

MARCH 5 • ROTOWIRE

Making second start of season Bitadze is starting Tuesday's game against the Wizards.

Impact Bitadze will make his return to the rotation Tuesday after falling out of favor down the stretch of February. He figures to share time at center with Moritz Wagner after Wendell Carter was a late scratch due to an ankle injury. Bitadze has started one other game this year for Orlando, totaling 14 points, 13 rebounds, one assist, three steals and two blocks in 32 minutes Jan. 11 against New Orleans.

MARCH 3 • ROTOWIRE

Exits rotation Monday Bitadze (coach's decision) didn't play in Monday's 114-98 loss to the Cavaliers.

Impact Before head coach Jamahl Mosley opted to remove Bitadze from the rotation entirely Monday, the seventh-year center's role already appeared to be trending down over the last handful of games once fellow center Moritz Wagner was cleared to make his season debut. Though Bitadze offers more rim protection than Wagner, the Magic may prefer the stronger offensive skill set Wagner brings to the table when starter Wendell Carter is off the court. Unless Carter ends up missing time at some point, Bitadze looks as though he may face an uphill battle to see enough minutes on a game-by-game basis to provide much of a meaningful fantasy impact.

JANUARY 23 • SOARINGDOWNSOUTH.COM

Retreating to bench Bitadze is not in the starting lineup for Thursday's game against the Grizzlies.

Impact Wendell Carter is returning from a one-game absence with a hip injury, forcing Bitadze to the second unit. Bitadze has averaged 5.9 points, 5.4 rebounds, 1.0 assists, 0.9 steals and 0.9 blocks in 16.2 minutes per contest over his last seven games off the bench.

JANUARY 15 • ROTOWIRE

Double-double in Sunday's start Bitadze ended Sunday's 128-118 win over the Pelicans with 14 points (7-10 FG, 0-1 3Pt), 13 rebounds, one assist, two blocks and three steals in 32 minutes.

Impact With Wendell Carter (hip) ruled out, Bitadze made his first start of the season and played a season high in minutes, and he responded with his first double-double. The 26-year-old center hadn't played more than 20 minutes since Oct. 29 however, and unless Carter's injury proved to be more serious than expected, Bitadze will have a hard time following up this performance, especially with Moritz Wagner (knee) also back and looking for minutes in the frontcourt.
