Won't play in Summer League finale
Demin (rest) has been ruled out for Sunday's Summer League game against the Thunder, Erik Slater of ClutchPoints.com reports.
Impact
Demin is healthy but will be inactive for the Nets' Summer League finale for rest purposes. The 20-year-old scored at least 20 points in all five of his Summer League appearances between the California Classic and Las Vegas. He figures to play a significant role in Brooklyn's backcourt during the 2026-27 campaign.

Scores team-high 21 points in loss
Demin finished with 21 points (8-20 FG, 5-16 3Pt), three rebounds, three assists, two steals and one block over 31 minutes in Thursday's 100-83 Summer League loss to Houston.
Impact
Demin had a team-high 21 points, though he struggled shooting the ball, going 8-for-20 from the field and 5-for-16 from three-point range. These types of shooting performances have been the norm for the 20-year-old during his time in Las Vegas. However, he has shown signs of growth, especially on the defensive end by totaling seven steals during the Las Vegas Summer League. Demin averaged 10.3 points, 3.2 rebounds, 3.3 assists, 0.3 blocks and 0.8 steals across 25.2 minutes in 52 regular-season appearances in 2025-26 before his year came to an end due to a foot injury. While he hasn't looked the best in some areas of his game this summer, he's still expected to make a statistical leap in 2026-27, assuming he can stay healthy.

Leads Nets in scoring Tuesday
Demin (rest) finished with 22 points (5-12 FG, 1-5 3Pt, 5-5 FT), four rebounds, eight assists and four steals across 23 minutes in Tuesday's 115-83 Summer League win over Sacrament...
Impact
Demin didn't play in Saturday's meeting with the Hawks, but he was back in action Tuesday. He finished with a team-high 22 points, though he shot an inefficient 1-for-5 from behind the arc. However, outside of Demin's shooting woes from downtown, he reached the 20-point mark in his second consecutive Las Vegas Summer League appearance. The 20-year-old averaged 10.3 points, 3.2 rebounds, 3.3 assists, 0.3 blocks and 0.8 steals while shooting 38.5 percent from deep over 25.2 minutes in 52 regular-season games before his inaugural campaign ended abruptly because of a foot injury. With that in mind, as long as Demin stays healthy in 2026-27, he should have more opportunities to build on his production from his rookie year.

Won't suit up Saturday
Demin (rest) won't play in Saturday's Summer League game against the Hawks, Erik Slater of ClutchPoints.com reports.
Impact
Demin will sit out the second leg of this back-to-back set after dropping 20 points during Friday's win over the Knicks. His next chance to play will come Tuesday against the Kings.

Scores 20 points in SL win
Demin finished Friday's 91-65 Summer League win over the Knicks with 20 points (7-15 FG, 3-9 3Pt, 2-3 FT), three rebounds, two assists, one steal and one block across 22 minutes.
Impact
Demin shot 0-for-4 from downtown in the first quarter but bounced back in the second, during which he posted 10 points while connecting on two of his four three-point tries. The 20-year-old guard finished the contest tied for the team lead in scoring, and he also matched the team-high mark in triples made. He's reached the 20-point mark in all three of his appearances this summer.

Nets 23 points with full line
Demin recorded 23 points (7-12 FG, 2-7 3Pt, 4-5 FT), eight rebounds, five assists and two steals over 26 minutes during Monday's 100-79 California Classic Summer League win over th...
Impact
Demin led Brooklyn in both points and rebounds while also doing an excellent job facilitating the offense. The second-year guard should open the season as a starter in Brooklyn, and it'll be interesting to see how he fares fighting for touches with Michael Porter, Julius Randle and the No. 6 overall pick, Mikel Brown.

Inactive versus Milwaukee Sunday
Demin (undisclosed) is listed as out for Sunday's California Classic Summer League game against Milwaukee, C.J. Holmes of the New York Daily News reports.
Impact
Demin underwent a foot procedure in March, though he was on the floor for Saturday's 79-76 Summer League loss to Sacramento. While he shot a rough 2-for-8 from downtown, he still led the Nets in scoring by finishing with 23 points across 24 minutes. Brooklyn's next Summer League game is Monday against Warriors Blue, so Demin could be back for that contest.

Impact
Demin shot a rough 2-for-8 from deep in the narrow loss to the Kings. However, despite the shooting woes, the 20-year-old managed to log 24 minutes, which was an encouraging sign after he underwent foot surgery in March 2026. Demin had a relatively productive inaugural campaign, averaging 10.3 points, 3.2 rebounds, 3.3 assists, 0.3 blocks and 0.8 steals over 25.2 minutes in 52 regular-season appearances. With Julius Randle, Michael Porter and 2026 No. 6 overall pick Mikel Brown on the roster, Demin may not get routine scoring opportunities in 2026-27, though he should be more productive than he was as a rookie, assuming he stays healthy.

Lined up for new backcourt partner?
Demin (foot) could have more competition for playmaking opportunities at point guard after the Nets took Mikel Brown in Tuesday's draft.
Impact
Although Brooklyn employs a crowded backcourt, its long-term vision likely involves Demin and Brown coalescing in the guard spots. Demin dealt with plantar fasciitis in his left foot during his rookie season, limiting him to 52 regular-season appearances, but he's still lined up as the Nets' top point guard in 2026-27. Whether or not Brown or perhaps Drake Powell is starting alongside Demin remains to be seen, though.
