Doug McDermott News, Rumors, Updates - Sacramento Kings

Not on injury report McDermott (trade pending) is not on the injury report for Saturday's game against New York.

Impact McDermott was acquired from the Spurs at the trade dealing with the Pacers looking to add more floor spacing. The veteran sharpshooter is likely to have a limited role at best when the Pacers are at full strength.

Sent to Indiana McDermott was traded from the Spurs to the Pacers on Thursday for a second-round pick and Marcus Morris, Shams Charania of The Athletic reports.

Impact This is a fairly low-stakes addition for Indiana, who were looking to add a sharpshooter to help fuel a playoff run. McDermott could see a marginally increased role, but it's still unlikely he'll be fantasy relevant.

Good to go McDermott (ankle) is available for Monday's game against the Hawks.

Impact McDermott will suit up Monday after missing Saturday's loss to Chicago due to a right ankle sprain. He posted exactly 14 points and two rebounds in each of his last two appearances and figures to handle a modest bench role versus Atlanta.

JANUARY 15, 2024 • ROTOWIRE

Iffy for Monday McDermott (ankle) is listed as questionable for Monday's game against the Hawks, Paul Garcia of ProjectSpurs.com reports.

Impact The Spurs will likely re-evaluate McDermott during Monday's morning shootaround before determining if he'll be forced to miss a second straight game due to a right ankle sprain. The veteran forward hasn't been a major part of San Antonio's rotation of late, having played 20 minutes or fewer in 14 of his last 15 appearances.

Not playing Saturday McDermott (ankle) has been ruled out of Saturday's game against Chicago.

Impact McDermott sprained his right ankle in Friday's 135-99 win over the Hornets, and the second half of a back-to-back comes too soon for him to return. The Spurs will miss his outside shooting, though. McDermott's next chance to play will come against the Hawks on Monday as the Spurs continue their road trip through the Eastern Conference.

Deemed doubtful McDermott (ankle) has drawn a doubtful designation ahead of Saturday's game against the Bulls, Paul Garcia of ProjectSpurs.com reports.

Impact McDermott indicated following Friday's win that his status for the second night of a back-to-back set was up in the air, so this is no surprise. Barring a quick recovery, the veteran forward does not appear to be trending in the right direction. If he indeed gets ruled out, Cedi Osman could be in for a slightly increased workload.

Won't return Friday McDermott will not return to Friday's game against the Hornets due to a right ankle sprain, ESPN's Andrew Lopez reports. He finished with 14 points (4-6 FG, 4-6 3PT, 2-3 FT) and tw...

Impact The Spurs put this game away early, so the lopsided score could have factored into the decision as well. San Antonio will play again Saturday versus the Bulls, and McDermott should be considered questionable for that one. If he can't suit up, Cedi Osman could be more involved.

Impact As expected, McDermott has been upgraded from probable to available and will suit up Sunday after missing San Antonio's previous contest. The sharpshooter is shooting 44.2 percent on 3.6 three-point attempts per game this season.

Likely to play against Cleveland McDermott (forearm) is listed as probable for Sunday's game versus the Cavaliers.

Impact McDermott is expected to return to action Sunday after missing the Spurs' previous contest with a right forearm contusion. McDermott provides valuable spacing off the bench, shooting 44.2 percent on 3.6 three-point attempts per contest.

Won't play Thursday McDermott has been ruled out for Thursday's game against the Bucks due to a right forearm contusion, Jeff Garcia of KENS 5 San Antonio reports.

Impact McDermott wasn't on the Spurs' initial injury report, but he'll sit for the first time since the start of December. He had played double-digit minutes in each of his last five appearances, averaging 5.8 points in 16.4 minutes per game. Julian Champagnie and Blake Wesley could see a few additional minutes Wednesday.

Not listed on injury report McDermott (illness) isn't listed on the Spurs' injury report ahead of Wednesday's game against the Timberwolves, Paul Garcia of ProjectSpurs.com reports.

Impact McDermott missed back-to-back games last week due to an illness but will return to action Wednesday. The Spurs should be close to full strength, so McDermott will presumably handle his usual role as a floor spacer off the bench.

DECEMBER 5, 2023 • ROTOWIRE

Remains out Friday McDermott (illness) has been ruled out for Friday's game against the Pelicans, independent NBA writer Matthew Tynan reports.

Impact McDermott missed Thursday's game against Atlanta due to his illness, and he'll be unavailable for the second half of the back-to-back set Friday. However, he'll have a few additional days to recover before Wednesday's game against the Timberwolves. Julian Champagnie and Cedi Osman are candidates for larger roles Friday.

DECEMBER 1, 2023 • ROTOWIRE

Won't play Thursday McDermott (illness) has been ruled out for Thursday's game against Atlanta, Tom Orsborn of the San Antonio Express-News reports.

Impact McDermott was given a questionable designation a few hours before Thursday's tipoff, and he'll officially be unavailable for the first time this season. Julian Champagnie and Cedi Osman could see increased work against the Hawks.

NOVEMBER 30, 2023 • ROTOWIRE

Late addition to injury report McDermott is listed as questionable for Thursday's game versus Atlanta due to an illness, Paul Garcia of ProjectSpurs.com reports.

Impact McDermott is expected to miss his first game of the season Thursday after being a late addition to San Antonio's injury report. Julian Champagnie and Cedi Osman are candidates to receive extended minutes in his likely absence.

NOVEMBER 30, 2023 • ROTOWIRE

Plays 14 minutes McDermott notched three points (1-2 FG, 1-2 3Pt), two rebounds, one assist and one block in 14 minutes during Wednesday's 109-102 loss to the Clippers.

Impact McDermott has scored in single digits in seven straight games and in 12 of the Spurs' first 15 matchups. The sharpshooter is capable of exploding at any point, but he's just not seeing enough usage to be a reliable fantasy option this season.

Barely visible in loss McDermott registered five points (2-4 FG, 1-2 3Pt), one rebound and one assist in 18 minutes during Tuesday's 123-87 loss to the Thunder.

Impact McDermott plodded his way to five points in the loss, another in a long line of underwhelming performances. Averaging just 7.6 points per game this season, McDermott sits well outside the top 250 in standard fantasy formats. Given he doesn't fit the current timeline in San Antonio, there is a decent chance he will be traded away at some point. While a move would at least give him a chance to compete, it is unlikely to change the fact that he is a non-factor outside of extremely deep leagues.

NOVEMBER 15, 2023 • ROTOWIRE

McBuckets sighting McDermott closed Monday's 152-111 loss to the Pacers with 17 points (5-9 FG, 4-6 3Pt, 3-4 FT), one rebound and four assists over 20 minutes.

Impact McDermott continues to fill a rotational sniper role for the Spurs, knocking down a season-high four triples. He led San Antonio in scoring Monday, but it came in the context of emptying the bench amid a blowout defeat; 14 Spurs logged at least eight minutes.
