Continues to struggle Bane recorded eight points (3-12 FG, 2-9 3Pt, 0-1 FT), two rebounds, three assists, one steal and one block over 26 minutes in Tuesday's 132-116 preseason victory over Cleveland.

Impact Bane couldn't establish much rhythm offensively, missing seven of his nine three-point attempts despite Orlando's comfortable win. He still contributed defensively and as a passer, but the cold shooting performance stood in contrast to the efficient nights enjoyed by several of his teammates.

Why Magic Should Expect More from Desmond Bane This Season Desmond Bane could be the X-factor for the Orlando Magic if he can be the leader the team needs him to be.

Comfortable in Orlando's system Bane feels confident entering his second year with the Magic, Philip Rossman-Reish of Orlando Magic Daily reports.

Impact Bane navigated an entirely new team and coach a season ago after being traded from Memphis to Orlando in June of 2025. However, that won't be the case entering the 2026-27 campaign. Bane has voiced his confidence in the team and staff around him, and he's also been impressed with one of his new teammates, Nikola Vucevic, stating that Vucevic has a serious approach and makes it clear that he's in Orlando to win, per Jason Beede of the Orlando Sentinel. Bane averaged 20.1 points while shooting 48.3 percent from the field over 82 regular-season appearances a year ago, and he'll have a good chance to inflict more damage on the offensive end heading into the new season.

Impact Bane scored no more than 18 points for the third straight game, all of which were losses. After leading the series 3-1, Orlando simply ran out of legs, bringing to an end what will likely be viewed as an underwhelming campaign for a team that came into the season with lofty expectations. As for Bane, his first season in Orlando was right on par with his career numbers. He finished with averages of 20.0 points, 4.2 rebounds, 3.9 assists, 1.1 steals and 2.2 three-pointers.
