Mavericks reportedly expected to keep 1st pick, add Cooper Flagg to their core
Doesn't score in season-ending loss Lively accumulated zero points (0-2 FG), six rebounds, three assists, two blocks and two steals across 20 minutes during Friday's 120-106 Play-In Game loss to Memphis.
Impact Friday's Play-In Game loss to the Grizzlies marked the only game this season that Lively played in but didn't score. The second-year center missed over half of the season due to an ankle injury. Across Lively's 36 regular-season appearances, including 29 starts, he averaged 8.7 points, 7.5 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 1.6 blocks.

Off injury report for Wednesday Lively (ankle) isn't listed on the injury report for Wednesday's game against the Kings.
Impact Lively sat out of the club's regular-season finale due to the right ankle injury that caused him to miss 36 consecutive outings this season. However, the second-year big man is set to return to action during Wednesday's elimination game. Lively has appeared in four matchups since the extended absence, averaging 5.5 points and 4.8 rebounds while shooting 71.4 percent from the field in 16.0 minutes per contest.
APRIL 15 • ROTOWIRE
Out Sunday, as expected Lively (ankle) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Grizzlies.
Impact As expected, Lively has been downgraded from doubtful to out and will miss the regular-season finale. He has appeared in three straight and four of Dallas' last five games since returning from a two-plus-month absence. However, despite dropping a double-double Friday, Lively has yet to play more than 18 minutes since his ankle injury.

Out Sunday, as expected Lively (ankle) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Grizzlies.
Impact As expected, Lively has been downgraded from doubtful to out and will miss the regular-season finale. He has appeared in three straight and four of Dallas' last five games since returning from a two-month-plus absence. However, despite dropping a double-double Friday, Lively has yet to play more than 18 minutes in a game since his ankle injury.
APRIL 13 • ROTOWIRE
Unlikely to play Sunday Lively (ankle) is listed as doubtful for Sunday's game against the Grizzlies.
Impact Lively has played in four of the Mavericks' last five games, but he'll likely be sidelined for Sunday's regular-season finale as he continues to work his way back from a fractured right ankle that caused him to miss 36 games. Lively's absence would mean more minutes for Daniel Gafford, Kai Jones and Dwight Powell.
APRIL 12 • ROTOWIRE
Efficient double-double Lively finished Friday's 124-102 victory over the Raptors with 10 points (5-7 FG) and 11 rebounds over 18 minutes.
Impact Lively needed only 18 minutes of playing time to register his eighth double-double of the season and first since Jan. 9 against Portland. Lively continues to ramp up his activity following a lengthy absence due to a right ankle injury, and he could see a slight uptick in playing time in Sunday's regular-season finale against the Grizzlies as the Mavericks battle for the ninth seed in the Western Conference standings.
APRIL 12 • ROTOWIRE
Sees just 15 minutes Lively provided six points (3-3 FG) and one steal over 15 minutes during Wednesday's 112-97 loss to the Lakers.
Impact Despite starting this game, Lively saw just 15 minutes and picked up three fouls. He's averaging 15.3 minutes per contest over his last three appearances since returning from injury, and it's clear the Mavericks are going to take a very cautious approach with the second-year center.
APRIL 10 • ROTOWIRE
Set to play Saturday Lively (ankle) is available for Saturday's game against the Clippers, Mark Medina of TheSportingTribune.com reports.
Impact Lively was one of several Dallas players who were deemed probable for the second leg of this back-to-back set, and the upgrade to available shouldn't be surprising. The Mavericks won't have Daniel Gafford (knee), so Lively should see heavy minutes in the frontcourt regardless of whether he starts or comes off the bench. Lively has made just one appearance since the All-Star break, notching four points, five rebounds and an assist across 16 minutes in a win over the Hawks on April 2.
APRIL 6 • ROTOWIRE
Expected to play Saturday Lively (ankle) is listed as probable for Saturday's game versus the Clippers.
Impact Lively is expected to return to action Saturday after sitting out the first leg of Dallas' back-to-back due to a right ankle injury. Although Lively started in his latest appearance, he only logged 16 minutes.
APRIL 5 • ROTOWIRE
Ruled out vs. LAC Lively (ankle) has been ruled out for Friday's game against the Clippers.
Impact After returning from a 36-game absence against the Hawks on Wednesday due to an ankle fracture, Lively will not suit up for Friday's game against the Clippers to manage the injury. Dallas will likely lean on Daniel Gafford, Kai Jones and Dwight Powell in Los Angeles.
APRIL 4 • ROTOWIRE
Limited in return Lively supplied four points (1-1 FG, 2-4 FT), five rebounds, one assist and one block in 16 minutes during Wednesday's 120-118 victory over the Hawks.
Impact Lively returned to the court after having missed 36 straight games due to an ankle injury. He slid straight into the starting lineup, playing alongside Anthony Davis for the first time in his career. While it was a subdued return, the Mavericks now somewhat resemble a full-strength lineup, minus Kyrie Irving who recently underwent surgery on a season-ending knee injury.
APRIL 3 • ROTOWIRE
Will start vs. Atlanta Lively will be in the starting lineup for Wednesday's game against the Hawks, Grant Afseth of DallasHoopsJournal.com reports.
Impact Lively will make his long-awaited return to the floor for the Mavericks on Wednesday and will be in the starting five right out of the gate. In 25 games as a starter this season, the 20-year-old big man averaged 9.0 points, 7.8 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 1.9 blocks per game, shooting 70.1 percent from the field.
APRIL 3 • ROTOWIRE
Set to return Wednesday Lively (ankle) has been cleared to play in Wednesday's game against the Hawks.
Impact Lively will return to the floor for the Mavericks on Wednesday after a 36-game absence due to an ankle injury. Dallas is finally starting to get healthy in the frontcourt, with Anthony Davis and Daniel Gafford returning to the lineup recently after an extended absence due to injuries.
APRIL 2 • ROTOWIRE
Practices, listed as questionable Lively is questionable for Wednesday's game against Atlanta due to a right ankle stress fracture.
Impact Lively was upgraded to questionable before ultimately being ruled out Monday against Brooklyn, but he practiced fully Tuesday, per Mike Curtis of The Dallas Morning News, and is nearing a return to action. With Anthony Davis (adductor) probable and Daniel Gafford having returned, Lively would likely play a reserve role with significant restrictions if he suits up Wednesday.
APRIL 1 • ROTOWIRE
Out Monday, could return this week Lively remains out for Monday's game against the Nets due to a right ankle stress fracture, Grant Afseth of DallasHoopsJournal.com reports.
Impact Although Lively won't play Monday, he's on the verge of rejoining the Mavericks' lineup after originally being listed as questionable to play following a multi-month absence. Head coach Jason Kidd says the 2023 first-rounder could play as soon as this week, per Afseth, with Lively's next chance to do so coming Wednesday against Atlanta. Dallas will get Daniel Gafford (knee) back against Brooklyn, and his return should put a dent in Kai Jones' fantasy appeal.
MARCH 31 • ROTOWIRE
Upgraded to questionable for Monday Lively (ankle) is listed as questionable for Monday's game against the Nets.
Impact His questionable tag is worth noting, as he had previously either been ruled out or listed as doubtful due to a right ankle injury that has kept him off the floor since Jan. 14. That indicates that he is in the final stages of his recovery from the injury, and when he does return he'll likely operate under a minutes restriction to allow him to get up to game speed.
MARCH 30 • ROTOWIRE
Not playing Saturday Lively (ankle) has been ruled out for Saturday's game against the Bulls.
Impact Lively has been ramping up his activity and is in the final stages of his recovery from a right ankle injury that has kept him out of action since Jan. 14. He's not quite ready to return Saturday, but his next chance to play is Monday against the Nets.
MARCH 29 • ROTOWIRE
Unlikely to play vs. Chicago Lively (ankle) is doubtful for Saturday's game against the Bulls.
Impact Lively is dealing with a right ankle injury and hasn't played since Jan. 14. Even though he's been ramping up of late, and even practiced with the Texas Legends of the G League earlier this month, it seems he's not ready to return to action yet. If he ends up being ruled out, then Lively's next chance to play will come against the Nets on Monday.
MARCH 28 • ROTOWIRE
Set to practice in G League The Mavericks assigned Lively to the G league's Texas Legends to take part in a 5-on-5 practice and will recall him after.
Impact Lively hasn't played since Jan. 14 due to an ankle injury but appears to be ramping up toward a return to action and will practice alongside Anthony Davis and Daniel Gafford in the G League. While there is no timetable for Lively's return, it appears that he will attempt to play before the end of the regular season.
MARCH 21 • ROTOWIRE
Progresses to individual work The Mavericks announced Friday that Lively (ankle) has progressed to individual court week after a recent re-evaluation, Mike Curtis of The Dallas Morning News reports.
Impact Lively remains without an official timetable, but he's going to be re-evaluated on a weekly basis which means fantasy managers can expect more updates on his progress in the near future. Meanwhile, Anthony Davis (adductor) has been cleared for more dynamic court movements and Daniel Gafford (knee) will be re-evaluated in two weeks.

Due for checkup in one month The Mavericks announced Wednesday that Lively will be re-evaluated in four weeks after being diagnosed with a right ankle stress fracture.
Impact Though Lively is due to be examined by doctors again in approximately one month, fantasy managers shouldn't expect the second-year center to be ready to play right away even if his re-evaluation yields good news. Shams Charania of ESPN reported earlier Wednesday that Lively's injury is expected to keep him sidelined for around 2-to-3 months in total, making him a drop candidate in most redraft leagues with limited injured reserve spots. Daniel Gafford has started each of the last four games in Lively's stead and has played 30-plus minutes on three occasions while averaging 20.0 points, 11.3 rebounds, 3.3 blocks, 2.3 assists and 0.8 steals.
