Recalled from G League The Hornets transferred McGowens from the G League's Greensboro Swarm on Friday.

Impact McGowens will be available for Friday's game against Memphis after rejoining the parent squad. The rookie has played sparingly in his four appearances this season, but he could see a slight bump in minutes Friday with Terry Rozier (ankle) and Cody Martin (quad) unlikely to play and LaMelo Ball (ankle) still out.

Impact Although the Knicks and Hornets went to overtime Wednesday, McGowens still saw minimal playing time during the loss. The 19-year-old joined Charlotte on a two-way deal in August, and it wouldn't be surprising to see him land in the G League at some point, given his lack of usage with the parent club.

Joins Hornets on two-way deal McGowens and the Hornets agreed to a two-way contract in July, Rod Boone of The Charlotte Observer reports.

Impact McGowens was drafted No. 40 overall by the Hornets over the summer. During his five Summer League appearances, he averaged 14.6 points, 4.0 rebounds and 2.6 assists in 30.8 minutes. On a two-way deal, he'll spend time in both the G League and NBA.
