Pat Connaughton/Blake Wesley NBA Tracker: Dec. 16-22 Not a great week for the former Irish in the Association.

DECEMBER 23, 2024 • USATODAY.COM

Notches 11 points Wesley produced 11 points (4-5 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 2-4 FT), three rebounds, four assists and two steals in 22 minutes during Tuesday's 128-115 win over the Jazz.

Impact Wesley saw his largest workload of the season Tuesday and made the most of his minutes. However, the Spurs will be getting Devin Vassell (knee) back in action Wednesday, so Wesley will face an uphill battle for consistent minutes when the Spurs are close to full strength.

Pat Connaughton/Blake Wesley NBA Tracker: Nov. 11-17 A couple of solid games for the two former Irish players.

NOVEMBER 18, 2024 • USATODAY.COM

Near double-double off bench Wesley ended Thursday's 118-105 victory over the Trail Blazers with 10 points (4-4 FG, 2-2 FT), one rebound, eight assists and two steals in 21 minutes.

Impact With Jeremy Sochan (thumb), Devin Vassell (foot) and Tre Jones (ankle) sidelined and Malaki Branham (ankle) leaving the contest early, Wesley saw an increased role and made the most of it, recording season highs in points, assists, steals and minutes played. It was only the fourth time Wesley played double-digit minutes this season, and despite the solid performance, he'll likely remain in a limited role. Sochan is expected to miss multiple weeks, but Vassell has been cleared to make his season debut Saturday, while Jones and Branham could be back sooner than later.

Pat Connaughton/Blake Wesley NBA Tracker: Oct. 28-Nov. 3 Not the best week for the former Notre Dame players.

NOVEMBER 4, 2024 • USATODAY.COM

Logs season-high 13 minutes Wesley amassed five points (2-5 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 1-2 FT) and one rebound in 13 minutes during Wednesday's 105-93 loss to Oklahoma City.

Impact Wesley logged a season-high in minutes, a feat that is not that impressive given his previous high was 12. A portion of his playing time came at the backend of the game, once the result was decided. Even with the Spurs' guard depth a little thin, Wesley has been unable to carve out a meaningful role. Barring a significant shift in their rotations, Wesley is not someone who needs to be considered in standard formats.

Has option picked up Wesley had his fourth-year team option picked up by the Spurs on Friday, Ty Jager of FanSided.com reports.

Impact Wesley averaged 5.4 points, 2.3 rebounds, 3.0 assists, 0.5 steals, 0.3 blocks and 0.4 triples across 17.0 minutes in the final 20 games of his sophomore season in San Antonio. Although his option was picked up, the guard will presumably have to earn a spot providing depth in the backcourt once the regular season tips off.

Career-best numbers in finale Wesley closed Sunday's 123-95 win over Detroit with 17 points (7-9 FG, 1-1 3Pt, 2-3 FT), six rebounds, five assists and three steals across 30 minutes.

Impact The 17 points were a career high for the second-year guard, while the boards and steals tied his previous highs. Wesley is still struggling to establish himself in the Spurs' backcourt rotation after being the 25th overall pick in the 2022 NBA Draft, but he at least heads into the offseason with a bit of confidence.

Draws rare start Wesley is starting Friday's game against the Nuggets.

Produces in limited minutes Wesley ended with 12 points (4-5 FG, 2-2 3Pt, 2-2 FT), one rebound, three assists, one block and two steals over 19 minutes during Saturday's 131-106 loss to Phoenix.

Impact Wesley took advantage of the minutes he saw off the bench in a blowout loss, missing just one shot from the field and ending as one of the few bright spots on a Spurs team that looked overmatched on both ends of the court. Wesley should continue to see minutes off the bench in the final weeks of the regular season, and it wouldn't be surprising if he makes a start here or there. too.

Impact Welsey was efficient from the field and scored his most points since Jan. 24, which was much-needed for a Spurs squad playing without Victor Wembanyama (ankle). Wesley has played double-digit minutes in 23 of the Spurs' last 24 games, but he's averaging just 5.3 points, 3.3 assists and 1.3 rebounds in 16.7 minutes during that stretch.

Impact Wesley has now registered six-plus assists in three of his last four appearances. He also cracked 25 minutes of playing time for the first time since Jan. 24 against the Thunder. The second-year guard out of Notre Dame could carve himself some more minutes in reserve moving forward if he continues to be as productive as he was Thursday.

Impact Wesley got the start Wednesday against the Thunder for Tre Jones, who was ruled out with a left ankle sprain. It was Wesley's first start of the season, and he ended up producing season highs in points and minutes played. He could see action in the starting lineup Friday against the Trail Blazers if Jones is held out again.
