INJURIES

Tallies six rebounds vs. Phoenix Biyombo chipped in one point (0-2 FG, 1-2 FT), six rebounds, two assists and three blocks across 26 minutes during Sunday's 121-115 victory over Phoenix.
Impact Biyombo was announced as a starter for Sunday's matchup, but he came off the bench as Xavier Tillman surprisingly joined the starting unit. However, Biyombo saw a relatively normal allotment of minutes, while Tillman played just three minutes. Biyombo has been a relatively limited contributor this year, averaging 4.1 points and 5.9 rebounds in 23.0 minutes per game over his last 10 appearances.
JANUARY 8, 2024 • ROTOWIRE
Back with starters Biyombo is back in the starting lineup for Friday's game versus the Lakers.
Impact Xavier Tillman replaced Biyombo in the starting five on Wednesday versus Toronto, but he had a rough showing in 23 minutes. Meanwhile, Biyombo didn't even see the floor that night. As a starter this season, Biyombo holds averages of 5.8 points, 6.8 rebounds, 1.7 assists and 1.2 blocks.
JANUARY 6, 2024 • ROTOWIRE
Retreats to bench Biyombo won't start Wednesday's game against the Raptors.
Impact After starting in all but one of his appearances this season, Biyombo will retreat to the bench in favor of Xavier Tillman. The change shouldn't come as too large of a surprise considering has averaged 21.5 minutes per game in his last eight appearances while averaging a measly 4.3 points.
JANUARY 4, 2024 • ROTOWIRE
Plays only eight minutes in loss Biyombo ended Friday's 117-106 loss to the Clippers with two points (1-2 FG), two rebounds and one steal across eight minutes.
Impact The Grizzlies were outrebounded 54-33 in the loss, and a lack of interior support from Biyombo was a key factor. Jaren Jackson, Santi Aldama and Xavier Tillman also had subpar success on the glass, but Memphis will need to figure out a solution at the five if Biyombo continues his downward trend.
DECEMBER 30, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Held in check Thursday Biyombo racked up two points (1-4 FG), five rebounds, one assist and one block over 22 minutes during Thursday's 142-105 loss to the Nuggets.
Impact Biyombo hasn't scored in double figures in five appearances since returning from a one-game absence, but his production was particularly limited during Thursday's blowout loss. The 31-year-old has been an unreliable contributor this month, averaging 4.4 points and 5.8 rebounds in 22.5 minutes per game over 12 appearances in December.
DECEMBER 29, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Logs 22 minutes in return Biyombo had eight points (4-5 FG), two rebounds, one block and one steal over 22 minutes during Tuesday's 115-113 victory over the Pelicans.
Impact Biyombo returned to the lineup after missing the previous game due to a back injury. He slid straight back into the starting unit, although failed to produce anything of note. Both he and Xavier Tillman are likely to battle for center minutes moving forward. While neither should be considered must-roster players, both should be monitored and streamed in, if and when injury befalls the other.
DECEMBER 20, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Starting against Pelicans Biyombo (back) is starting against the Pelicans on Tuesday.
Impact Biyombo missed Monday's game against the Thunder, but he's all set after a temporary setback. He may find life a little easier Tuesday, as the Grizzlies will be getting Ja Morant back in the lineup with his 25-game suspension over.
DECEMBER 20, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Cleared Tuesday Biyombo (back) is off the injury report in advance of Tuesday's contest against New Orleans.
Impact Biyombo will be available for Ja Morant's return from suspension Tuesday night. Vince Williams and Ziaire Williams will likely see reduce roles with Biyombo active, while GG Jackson could be removed from the rotation with the Grizzlies' regaining depth.
DECEMBER 19, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Out Monday Biyombo (back) is out Monday against Oklahoma City.
Impact Biyombo was listed as doubtful throughout Monday, so his inability to suit up isn't overly surprising. Santi Aldama and Xavier Tillman will likely serve enlarged roles in the frontcourt, while a heroically large workload will persist for Jaren Jackson in the final game before Ja Morant's (suspension) return Tuesday.
DECEMBER 19, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Unlikely to play Monday Biyombo is doubtful for Monday's game against the Thunder due to back soreness.
Impact Biyombo returned to the starting unit over the last two matchups, but he'll likely be forced to miss his first game since the start of November on Monday. Assuming Biyombo is sidelined, Jaren Jackson and Xavier Tillman are candidates to see increased run.
DECEMBER 17, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Back with starters Biyombo will start Wednesday at Houston.
Impact After a one-game stint with the reserves, Biyombo will return to the first unit for Wednesday's tilt. In 15 starts this season, Biyombo is averaging 6.5 points, 7.5 rebounds and 1.3 blocks over 26.8 minutes.
DECEMBER 14, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Coming off bench Monday Biyombo will come off the bench for Monday's game against Dallas, Grant Afseth of SI.com reports.
Impact Biyombo has started in all 15 of his appearances for the Grizzlies this season, but Memphis will change it up Monday. Jaren Jackson and Santi Aldama will anchor the frontcourt against an undersized Dallas team, with Biyombo and Xavier Tillman coming off the bench. Biyombo is averaging 21.0 minutes across his past three games.
DECEMBER 12, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Grabs 11 boards in win Biyombo put up two points (1-3 FG), 11 rebounds, four assists and a block over 26 minutes in a 116-102 win over the Pistons on Wednesday.
Impact Wednesday night also marked Biyombo's fifth game reaching double digits in the boards column. He has solidified himself as a reliable starter on the defensive end this season in the absence of Steven Adams (knee), averaging 7.8 rebounds and 1.4 blocks through 27.1 minutes. As Adams, Brandon Clarke (Achilles) and Xavier Tillman (knee) will all be out for extended periods (the first two being out presumably for the entire season), expect Biyombo to continue drawing major minutes down the line.
DECEMBER 7, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Decent stat line Sunday Biyombo recorded 10 points (2-3 FG, 6-10 FT), five rebounds, three assists and one steal across 30 minutes during Sunday's 119-97 loss to the Timberwolves.
Impact Biyombo started for the first time on Nov. 5 and has taken over the role of starting center over Xavier Tillman and Steven Adams, as both are dealing with knee injuries -- a season-ending once in the case of Adams. Biyombo has never been a regular scorer, but he has scored in double digits in four of his 10 games. This is the first time he's starting on a semi-regular basis since the 2020-21 campaign when he was playing for Charlotte.
NOVEMBER 27, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Gets in foul trouble Biyombo logged two points (1-2 FG), two rebounds and one block in 14 minutes during Sunday's 102-100 loss to Boston.
Impact Biyombo was getting a lot of consistent minutes coming into Sunday's game, but he picked up five fouls in this one. It's worth noting that Santi Aldama is heating up for the Grizzlies, but the Grizzlies have actually been starting a jumbo lineup featuring all three of Biyombo, Aldama and Jaren Jackson.
NOVEMBER 20, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Double-double in win Biyombo had 13 points (5-6 FG, 3-7 FT), 12 rebounds, three assists and two blocks over 36 minutes in Sunday's 105-101 win over the Clippers.
Impact Biyombo has recorded 10-plus rebounds in all four games for the Grizzlies since joining the team on Nov. 2. He registered his second-straight double-double as he fills in a need at rebounding with Steven Adams (knee) out for the season. He also had a team-best plus-20 point differential and was one of four Grizzlies starters to score in double figures Sunday.
NOVEMBER 12, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Productive as starter Biyombo notched eight points (3-6 FG, 2-2 FT), 11 rebounds, four assists and three blocks in 26 minutes during Sunday's 112-100 victory over Portland.
Impact Biyombo had minimal playing time to begin the season but performed well Sunday after he was a late addition to the starting lineup in place of Xavier Tillman (knee). It's unclear whether Biyombo's performance will earn him increased playing time moving forward, but he'll likely return to the bench once Tillman is cleared to return.
NOVEMBER 6, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Getting spot start Biyombo will start Sunday's matchup against the Trail Blazers.
Impact Biyombo will get a last-minute spot in the starting lineup with Xavier Tillman being ruled out just before tipoff with a knee injury. Biyombo, who signed with the team on Thursday, will be making his season debut.
NOVEMBER 6, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Signing with Memphis official The Grizzlies announced the signing of Biyombo to a one-year contract Thursday.
Impact Shams Charania of The Athletic previously reported Saturday that Biyombo had agreed to terms on a deal with Memphis, but the Grizzlies weren't able to formally add the veteran center to the 15-man roster until the team completed its fifth game of the season Wednesday. Biyombo is joining the roster via an exemption that the league has allotted to the Grizzlies while guard Ja Morant serves a 25-game suspension to open the season. Though Biyombo essentially taking Morant's spot on the roster, his addition is more about the Grizzlies looking to shore up their frontcourt with Steven Adams (knee) sidelined for the season and Brandon Clarke (Achilles) likely out until late in the campaign. Biyombo will be eligible to make his team debut Friday in Portland, and he could immediately have a spot in the rotation as the primary backup to starting center Xavier Tillman.
NOVEMBER 2, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Reinforces Grizzlies Biyombo agreed to a deal with Memphis on Saturday, Shams Charania of The Athletic reports.
Impact Biyombo joins a Memphis frontcourt depleted by injuries, with Santi Aldama (ankle) without an official timeline to return and Steven Adams (knee) out for the season. Entering his age-31 season, Biyombo may cut into the usage of Xavier Tillman while shoring up Memphis' rim protection.
OCTOBER 29, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Tallies three blocks in win Biyombo contributed eight points (2-4 FG, 4-5 FT), eight rebounds, two assists and three blocks across 12 minutes during Tuesday's 136-130 victory over the Clippers in Game 5 of th...
Impact Biyombo continues to play limited minutes off the bench, a role that is unlikely to change heading into the second round of the playoffs. Despite his reduced playing time, Biyombo still managed to rack up three blocks, impacting the game on the defensive end. The Nuggets also run a sizeable rotation, meaning Biyombo should once again serve as the primary backup behind Deandre Ayton.
APRIL 26, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Limited in backup role Biyombo logged three points (1-2 FG, 1-2 FT), two rebounds and one block over 12 minutes during Saturday's 112-100 win over the Clippers in Game 4 of the Western Conference Quarter...
Impact Biyombo played as the primary backup behind Deandre Ayton, logging just 12 minutes in the win. With Ayton firing on all cylinders, Biyombo is simply not required to play a ton of minutes. At this point, it would take an injury to Ayton for Biyombo to be anything more than a place-holder when Ayton is catching his breath.
APRIL 22, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Cleared for Game 1 Biyombo (knee) is absent from the Suns' injury report ahead of Sunday's Game 1 matchup with the Clippers, Kellan Olson of ArizonaSports.com reports.
Impact Biyombo suffered a right knee bone bruise in the second-to-last game of the regular-season and subsequently missed the finale. He returned to practice earlier this week and is expected to take on his usual workload providing depth in the frontcourt.
APRIL 15, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Returns to practice Biyombo (knee) was wearing a knee brace in Wednesday's practice, Gerald Bourguet of GoPHNX.com reports.
Impact Biyombo missed Phoenix's regular-season finale due to a right knee contusion. However, his return to practice is a good sign for Sunday's playoff game versus the Clippers. If he is able to suit up, he will likely receive backup center minutes behind Deandre Ayton.
APRIL 12, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
'I'll be ready': Suns big Bismack Biyombo (knee) optimistic for playoff return Bismack Biyombo went down in Friday's loss at Lakers after colliding knees with Anthony Davis.
