Bound for free agency Garcia is set to become a free agent after his 10-day contract with the Jazz expired Friday, Ben Anderson of KSL News Salt Lake City reports.

Impact Utah could look to bring Garcia back if the NBA grants the Jazz another temporary roster spot via a hardship exception, but for now, Shams Charania of ESPN relays that the team plans to sign guard Kennedy Chandler to a 10-day deal to take over Garcia's spot on the 15-man roster. After signing his 10-day contract March 11, Garcia saw ample playing time during his five-game run with the Jazz while the team contended with several injuries to other frontcourt players. The undrafted rookie out of Texas A&M shot 31.0 percent from the field and 7.7 percent from three-point range while averaging 5.2 points, 8.4 rebounds, 2.8 assists, 1.6 steals and 0.8 blocks in 33.8 minutes per contest.

Starting Thursday Garcia will start Thursday versus the Bucks.

Impact This will be Garcia's second start this season and it'll be Ace Bailey, Cody Williams, Elijah Harkless and Kyle Filipowski joining him in the first unit for Thursday's game. In Garcia's previous start, he finished with three points, 11 rebounds, three assists, one triple, two steals and one block over 43 minutes.

Headed to bench Garcia will come off the bench for Wednesday's game in Minnesota.

Impact Kyle Filipowski is back from his rest day and starting, so Garcia will shift back to the second unit. John Konchar is also set to return Wednesday, so Garcia's playing time figures to take a hit, making him a risky target in daily fantasy leagues.

Impact Making his first career NBA start in just his third game, Garcia made an impact on the glass as he led the Jazz in rebounding. The undrafted 25-year-old rookie has been pressed into duty due to a rash of injuries in the Utah frontcourt, but his role could shrink quickly once Ace Bailey (concussion) or Lauri Markkanen (hip) are cleared to return.

Making first career start Garcia will make his first career start during Sunday's game against the Kings.

Impact Garcia gets the start due to the plethora of injuries the team is dealing with. In two appearances for the Jazz this season, Garcia is averaging 6.0 points, 6.0 rebounds, 1.5 steals and 1.0 assists in 27.0 minutes per contest.
