The former second-round pick most recently played for the Kawasaki Brave Thunders in Japan, where he averaged 12.7 points, 9.1 rebounds and 4.1 assists across 26.2 minutes per game in 60 outings during the 2024-25 season.

Impact Johnson split last season among three different NBA clubs but didn't etch out double-digit minutes with any of them. He will presumably serve in a similar role with the Spurs in 2022-23 as frontcourt bench depth.

Back in New Orleans Johnson has re-signed with the Pelicans via a hardship exception, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports.
Impact Johnson returns to the team less than 24 hours after being let go. He made three appearances during his initial 10-day contract. He accumulated nine points and 12 rebounds across 25 minutes during that span.
