Chips in off bench Wednesday Griffin racked up 12 points (6-12 FG, 0-2 3Pt) and two rebounds in 15 minutes during Wednesday's 122-101 loss to the Knicks.

Impact It's the first time in five games Griffin has scored in double digits, but the teenage rookie was the only member of Atlanta's second unit to manage more than eight Wednesday. The 2022 first-round pick has yet to play 20 minutes off the bench in a game during February, and the addition of Saddiq Bey at the trade deadline creates some additional competition for court time and touches. Griffin's upside remains intriguing, but the Duke product might have a hard time making a consistent fantasy impact coming out of the All-Star break.

Impact The first-round pick out of Duke isn't doing enough to warrant much fantasy attention, though it's encouraging that coach Nate McMillan is comfortable entrusting him with 17-to-22 minutes off the bench on most nights. In the month of January, Griffin is averaging 8.1 points on 57.7 percent shooting, including a red-hot 53.5 percent from downtown (2.9 3PA/G).

Impact Griffin was a perfect 3-of-3 from the three-point line, ending with 13 points in 23 minutes. He has now scored in double digits in four of his past five games, although his peripheral numbers certainly don't jump off the page. He is well outside the top 150 over the past two weeks, making him nothing more than a potential stream candidate in slightly deeper formats.

Griffin saw an uptick in minutes Saturday night with Bogdan Bogdanovic (quad) sidelined, but he'll likely go back to logging around 15 minutes per night once Bogdanovic returns to health.

Despite cobbling together an impressive rookie season, Griffin has slowed of late, barely putting up top-250 value over the latest stretch with single-digit scoring in three of his past four outings. He can be utilized as a three-point streamer, but anything beyond that is a little risky.

Impact Griffin moved into the starting lineup Wednesday, one of three fill-in starters for the Hawks. Despite the promotion, he was unable to deliver anything outside of a pair of steals. While he has shown flashes this season, he is simply too inconsistent to warrant allocating a permanent 12-team roster spot. He is fine to stream for now, but as soon as the Hawks start getting their guys back, he can be safely sent back to the waiver wire.

The rookie first-round pick has earned himself an expansive role off the bench, but he's mainly a bench piece, at best, in most fantasy formats at this point.

Given he has been unable to produce, even with a number of pivotal pieces on the sideline, managers are well within their rights to move on at this point.
