Finishes full race Alonso finished 18th in the Japanese Grand Prix F1 race at Suzuka Circuit on Sunday.
Impact Alonso got a late start to the weekend after missing FP1 due to the birth of his child. On the track, things were largely the same as Alonso was never able to muster strong pace due to the poor state of his Aston Martin. The positive takeaway was that he was able to finish a complete race for the first time this season, giving the team something to build on heading into a long break before the Miami Grand Prix.

Still struggling with car Alonso was forced to retire after 32 Laps from the Chinese Grand Prix F1 race at Shanghai International Circuit on Sunday.
Impact The Aston Martin remains a non-competitive car, and it left Alonso well off the pace of points. He finished 17th in the sprint but managed to complete only slightly more than half of the traditional grand prix. Alonso has only completed 53 of 114 laps across two races this season, and he'll likely have a hard time completing a race until Aston Martin resolves the vibration issues currently affecting the car.
MARCH 18 • ROTOWIRE
Runs 21 laps Alonso finished unclassified after completing 21 laps in the Australian Grand Prix F1 race at Albert Park Circuit on Sunday.
Impact Aston Martin entered the weekend with clear expectations that neither of its drivers would complete the race. That was the case for Alonso, who managed to pick up several positions at the start of the race after qualifying 17th to at least make the most of his running time. He retired after 21 laps due to car troubles, and things are unlikely to improve much heading into the Chinese Grand Prix.

Ends 2025 in good form Alonso finished sixth at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix F1 race at Yas Marina Circuit on Sunday.
Impact Alonso had an excellent weekend, reaching Q3 for the third consecutive race. He converted that into the second-best finish of his season, effectively blocking the midfield pack behind him to pick up a haul of points. Alonso closed the season with 56 points and ended the year with a pair of solid top-10 finishes.
DECEMBER 10, 2025 • ROTOWIRE
Strong showing in Qatar Alonso finished seventh in the Qatar Grand Prix F1 race at Lusail International Circuit on Sunday.
Impact Alonso was excellent for the majority of the weekend, qualifying fourth for the sprint, ahead of Max Verstappen. He slid to seventh but still managed to start the weekend with a pair of points. Alonso carried that form into the traditional portion of the grand prix, reaching Q3 to start eighth on the grid. Alonso had a realistic chance to finish as high as sixth, though he had an uncharacteristic unforced error by spinning during the final laps to lose two positions. While there could have been more, Alonso still racked up a solid eight points on the weekend -- his first since the United States Grand Prix.

Fades out of points in Vegas Alonso finished 11th in the Las Vegas Grand Prix F1 race at the Las Vegas Strip Circuit on Saturday.
Impact Alonso took advantage of rainy conditions in qualifying to reach Q3 and start seventh on the grid. However, Saturday night proved to be a challenge with the track dry. His Aston Martin lacked the pace to compete with other cars in the middle of the field, pushing him to a 13th-place finish on the road. He was promoted to 11th with both McLarens disqualified, but he's still failed to record a point in four consecutive grand prix.

Earns points in sprint Alonso finished 14th in the Brazilian Grand Prix F1 race at Autodromo Jose Carlos Pace on Sunday.
Impact Alonso began the weekend in excellent form, qualifying fifth for the sprint before hanging on for a strong sixth-place finish. Things worsened from there, as he narrowly missed out on Q3 before fading on Sunday during the race. Alonso has still managed to record points in three of the last five race weekends.

Retires with brake issues Alonso was forced to retire due to brake issues after 34 laps from the Mexico City Grand Prix F1 race on Sunday.
Impact Alonso didn't have the most effective race weekend, as he was knocked out in Q2 and began the race 14th on the grid. He then got caught in traffic to begin the race, giving him minor damage and pushing him further down the field. While it was an early retirement, Alonso was not in contention for points.

Nabs point in Austin Alonso finished 10th in the United States Grand Prix F1 race at Circuit of the Americas on Sunday.
Impact The highlight of Alonso's weekend arguably came Friday, when he qualified sixth for the sprint. He wasn't rewarded after being involved in a collision on Turn 1 of the opening lap, but he did rebound to qualify 10th and finished in the same position during the grand prix. Alonso has points in consecutive races and three times in five grand prix since the summer break.

Strong showing in Singapore Alonso finished seventh in the Singapore Grand Prix F1 race at Marina Bay Street Circuit on Sunday.
Impact Alonso had one of the more eventful races of any driver in the field, with several highs and lows throughout the weekend. He posted the fastest time in FP1 and then managed to reach Q3 for the fourth time in the last five grand prix. Alonso's solid work looked to be undone by a 9.2-second pit stop, though he managed to pass Isack Hadjar and Oliver Bearman thanks to help from Aston Martin teammate Lance Stroll holding up a pack of cars in the midfield. Alonso has finished with points in seven of his last 10 races.

Fast FP1 in Singapore Aston Martin driver Alonso was a somewhat surprising pace-setter during Friday's first practice session for the Singapore Grand Prix, leading the way from Ferrari's Charles Leclerc...
Impact Alonso would take on a green race track in cloudy but hot and humid conditions. The veteran driver would log a lap of 1:31.116 of soft tyres late in the hour-long session. He would edge Leclerc for the top spot on the timing sheets by just over a tenth. Alonso hasn't visited the points since Zandvoort and is looking for a nice, rebound weekend in Singapore.

False start at Baku Alonso finished 15th at the Azerbaijan Grand Prix F1 race at the Baku City Circuit on Sunday.
Impact Alonso missed out on Q3 by less than one-tenth of a second to line up 11th on the grid. He jumped the start of the race, following Oscar Piastri's lead, to get a five-second penalty. That derailed the rest of his race, as he got caught in traffic with the back markers to finish without points for the second consecutive weekend.

Suffers suspension failure Alonso retiredfrom the Italian Grand Prix F1 race at Autodromo Nazionale Monza on Sunday.
Impact Alonso was on his way to a solid weekend, running on the back end of a points position after the initial stint. However, he ran into trouble shortly thereafter with his right front suspension failing. The marked Alonso's fourth retirement of the season.
SEPTEMBER 12, 2025 • ROTOWIRE
Collects more points Alonso finished eighth in the Dutch Grand Prix F1 race at Circuit Zandvoort on Sunday.
Impact Alonso had a very inconsistent weekend, but the end result was positive. He reached Q3 for the third time in his last four grand prix to line up 10th on the grid. However, Alonso uncharacteristically lost several positions at the start of the race, which he managed to gain back thanks to the strategy from Aston Martin to pit him early, and fortunately, just prior to a safety car. After a slow start to the season, Alonso has now recorded points in six of his last seven races.
SEPTEMBER 3, 2025 • ROTOWIRE
Best finish of 2025 Alonso finished fifth at the Hungarian Grand Prix F1 race at Hungaroring on Sunday.
Impact Alonso was coming off one of his worst races of the season at the Belgian Grand Prix, but he immediately bounced back to record his best finish of 2025. He was consistently fast, showing pace during free practice before qualifying fifth. Alonso briefly passed Lando Norris at the beginning of the race for fourth place but largely ran his own race, staying ahead of the midfield but unable to keep pace with the fastest cars of the field.
AUGUST 4, 2025 • ROTOWIRE
Points streak ends Alonso finished 14th at the Belgian Grand Prix F1 race at Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps on Sunday.
Impact The Aston Martin was off-pace all weekend, leaving Alonso as an afterthought during both the sprint and race portions of the weekend. The performance also snapped a four-race point streak for Alonso, and he'll look to bounce back at the upcoming Hungarian Grand Prix.
JULY 31, 2025 • ROTOWIRE
Fourth straight points finish Alonso finished ninth in the British Grand Prix F1 race at Silverstone Circuit on Sunday.
Impact Alonso turned in another consistent weekend, reaching Q3 for the fifth time in the last six races and tallying points in his fourth straight grand prix. Rainy conditions made race day difficult, as Alonso slipped to 14th after an early set of pit stops and a swap from slick to intermediate tires. However, Alonso was the first driver to get back on slick tires as conditions dried, allowing him to rise back up the field.
JULY 7, 2025 • ROTOWIRE
Impresses on one-stop strategy Alonso finished seventh in the Austrian Grand Prix F1 race at Red Bull Ring on Sunday.
Impact Alonso missed Q3 by just under one-tenth of a second, but a unique race strategy helped him tally points for the third consecutive grand prix. He was one of only two drivers to execute a one-stop strategy, and he even managed to hold off Gabriel Bortoleto on the final laps on tires 16 laps older. Aston Martin has given Alonso a more competitive car in recent grand prix, and he now has 14 points on the season.
JUNE 30, 2025 • ROTOWIRE
Strong showing in Canada Alonso finished seventh in the Canadian Grand Prix F1 race at Circuit Gilles-Villeneuve on Sunday.
Impact Alonso hinted at pace throughout the weekend, finishing P5 in Free Practice 2. He converted that pace when it mattered the most, reaching Q3 for the fourth straight race while ultimately starting sixth on the grid. Alonso didn't have enough speed to hang with the top teams, but he still did well to maintain track position during the grand prix, particularly because he suffered from a slow pit stop. Overall, he managed to log his best finish of the year and second consecutive points finish.
JUNE 16, 2025 • ROTOWIRE
Finally tallies points Alonso finished ninth in the Spanish Grand Prix F1 race at Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya on Sunday.
Impact Alonso reached Q3 for the third consecutive race weekend but was finally able to convert his strong starting position into points. Still, it wasn't the cleanest race for Alonso as he went off the track and into a gravel trap early in the race. Nevertheless, he managed to fight back up the field and come out on the better end of a battle with Liam Lawson to secure his first points finish of the year. Alonso finished 10th on the road but was promoted one position due to Max Verstappen's penalty.
