Jones started 21st on the grid and started his methodical march through the field at the drop of the green flag. The Joe Gibbs Racing youngster would race up to 10th-place by the end of stage 1. Jones would be a Top-10 driver for the remainder of the night from there on out. He didn't have the speed to challenge for the lead, but he picked off some positions late and collected the strong Top-5 finish. It was his fifth Top 5 of the season.
