Hits Wall Late Briscoe brought the No. 19 car home 12th in Sunday's NASCAR Cup Series Goodyear 400 at Darlington Raceway after a late issue.

Impact Briscoe was running in the Top 5 late in the race when contact from Riley Herbst sent him into the wall. He was able to limp home 12th, but it could have been a much better day for a driver who sits just 22nd in the point standings. Briscoe's inability to bring the No. 19 car home in one piece this season has been an issue, but now he heads to a Martinsville track where he has six Top 10s in 10 starts.

Bounces Back in Vegas Briscoe recorded his second Top 10 of the season in Sunday's NASCAR Cup Series Pennzoil 400 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, finishing in eighth place.

Impact It's been a rollercoaster of a season for Briscoe, who has two Top 10s but finished 36th or worse in the other three races of the season. Sunday's eighth-place finish moved Briscoe up seven spots in the Cup Series point standings to 26th. He's the only Joe Gibbs Racing driver outside of the Top 10 in points. Up next is Darlington, where Briscoe has won two of the past three Cup Series races, including a dominant victory last fall that saw Briscoe lead 309 of 367 laps.
