Contact with Oscar Piastri Lawson finished 14th in the Las Vegas Grand Prix Formula 1 race at the Las Vegas Strip Circuit on Saturday night.
Impact Despite qualifying a brilliant P6 on the grid, Lawson would run into trouble on the opening lap. The dash into turn 1 upon the lights out would see the Racing Bulls youngster run into the rear of Oscar Piastri's McLaren. It would create a lot of havoc on track and Lawson's car would receive front wing damage. He would pit on lap 2 for a new wing and rejoin P18. That would effectively turn the race into a two-stop affair for Lawson while most others were on a one-stop strategy. He would battle at the back-end all the way to the finish and only promote to P14 upon the early retirements of other drivers and post-race disqualification of both McLarens.

Impact Lawson overcame a tough September and October to rebound into the points Sunday at Interlagos. A strong qualifying effort would put the young driver seventh on the starting grid. Lawson would grab a couple spots in the early laps due to incidents and safety cars. A lap 19 pit stop would drop him back in the order but he'd race his way back into the mid-field undaunted. Lawson would run a huge second stint in a one-stop gambit and it would pay off. He'd lose a spot down the stretch to Oliver Bearman but would hang onto a solid P7 at the checkered flag.

Impact Lawson would start P12 on the grid and use medium tyres which was the popular strategy on Sunday. Yuki Tsunoda would rocket past a number of cars in the opening laps, Lawson included. He would slip to P13 as a result. However, Lawson's long opening stint would allow him to race up to 10th-place by his lone pit stop. It would be a three-way battle from there with Fernando Alonso and Lance Stroll. Lawson would hold up well but not be able to fetch points with his eventual P11 finish.

Fade in SIngapore Lawson finished 15th in the Singapore Grand Prix Formula 1 race at the Marina Bay Circuit on Sunday.
Impact It would be a tough weekend in Singapore for the young Racing Bulls driver. After a couple crashes during practice he'd face long odds in the grand prix on Sunday. Lawson started P12 on the grid and would run a mammoth opening stint to lap 48. He would promote as high as P8 during the stint but would pit out of P13 as his tyres degraded. Rebounds to Points Lawson finished fifth in the Azerbaijan Grand Prix Formula 1 race at the Baku City Circuit on Sunday afternoon.
Impact Lawson would leverage his best-ever qualifying position of P3 to deliver a points haul Sunday in Azerbaijan. The Racing Bulls youngster would run medium tyres in his opening stint which was in contrast with many of the other front runners. Lawson would pit for fresh rubber on lap 20 and rejoin in P10. He would then use the remainder of the grand prix to pick off spots and he'd promote one spot late on Yuki Tsunoda's stop to regain to P5. P14 in Italian Grand Prix Lawson finished 14th in the Italian Grand Prix Formula 1 race at the Monza Circuit on Sunday afternoon.
Impact After a poor qualifying effort and P18 start on the grid, Lawson and his Racing Bulls team would go aggressive to start the race on soft tyres. It would initially gain him three spots in the opening laps, but the downside would be that he'd be the first to pit on lap 9 for fresh rubber. That move would force him to the back and Lawson would find it difficult to regain track position. He would ride P17 down the stretch and would only promote to P14 at the finish due to time penalties to other drivers. He'll look for better results next round out in Azerbaijan.

Impact Lawson would start eighth on the grid and look forward to a possible point drive Sunday on Circuit Zandvoort. He would pit under the safety car at lap 23 and that would allow him to climb to P6. However, from there things would change for the Racing Bulls youngster. Lawson would make contact with Carlos Sainz during a heated battle and both would drop back due to some damage to their cars. Lawson would drop to P18 and fall off the lead lap. However, he would get back on the lead lap later and make up some spots down the stretch to earn a reasonable but somewhat disappointing 12th-place finish.

Impact A good qualifying session would make a big difference for the Racing Bulls youngster. Lawson would start ninth on the grid and use that good starting track position to his full advantage. A single stop strategy (lap 40) would be the winning move as he would work his way up into P7 before the stop. Fresh tyres down the stretch would allow Lawson to shore up a spot on the heels of Lance Stroll and with a good buffer to Max Verstappen. He would ride it to a P8 finish and 4 points in Hungary.

P17 at Suzuka Circuit Lawson finished 17th in the Japanese Grand Prix Formula 1 race at the Suzuka Circuit on Sunday afternoon.
Impact After his move to the Racing Bulls, qualifying would go much better this round for Lawson. He'd advance to Q2 but no further and start a reasonable 13th on the gird. Lawson would surrender a spot on the opening lap to Yuki Tsunoda and from there it would be a battle to hang onto track position which was tough to come by in this grand prix. A long opening stint would allow him to race up to P8 but he couldn't hang onto the positions gained. Instead Lawson would scrap at the back with Esteban Ocon to secure 17th-place in Japan.
