Hadjar would make ground early and climb through the order working with Max Verstappen. He would shore up position behind his teammate and keep Charles Leclerc at bay to finish 3.5-seconds ahead of the Ferrari star for the impressive podium finish in the Azerbaijan Grand Prix.

Returning to Red Bull in 2027 Hadjar (wrist) will remain with Red Bull Racing for the 2027 Formula 1 season and will return from injury this weekend at the Azerbaijan Grand Prix.

Impact Hadjar has been under the Red Bull umbrella since 2022 when he drove for the team in Formula 3 and Formula 2 before earning a full-time seat in Formula 1 at Racing Bulls in 2025. Hadjar is in the middle of his first season with Red Bull's top F1 team alongside Max Verstappen. A recent wrist injury has forced him to miss the last three races, but he is ready to go this weekend at the Baku Street Circuit. Hadjar will look to pick up his second podium finish of the season (Monaco).

Impact Hadjar will sit out for a second-straight round after his non-racing related wrist injury. Lawson will sub in the Red Bull Racing entry for the young driver after successfully racing to P7 at Zandvoort last round. Yuki Tsunoda will once again drive in relief of Lawson at the Racing Bulls entry for the Italian Grand Prix. Meanwhile, Hadjar will continue his rehabilitation and recovery from the wrist injury.

Remains consistent Hadjar finished sixth in the Hungarian Grand Prix F1 race at Hungaroring on Sunday.

Impact Hadjar was relatively quick in qualifying, turning in a Q3 lap only roughly .130 seconds off the pace of teammate Max Verstappen. He ran a solid race, albeit a relatively anonymous one, and took advantage of a slow start from George Russell and the bad luck of Oscar Piastri to gain two positions. Hadjar has now finished sixth in four of his last five races, and inside the top six in seven consecutive grand prix.

Overcomes grid penalty Hadjar finished sixth in the Belgian Grand Prix F1 race at Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps on Sunday.

Impact Hadjar showed strong pace in qualifying and reached Q3, but was pushed to the back of the grid due to a penalty for changing elements of his power unit. He climbed to 15th after the first lap and then took advantage of a virtual safety car early in the race to help launch him 15 places up the grid by the end of the race. Hadjar has yet to tally a podium finish this season, but he has finished sixth or better in six consecutive races.

Power Unit Penalty Hadjar is set to drop to the rear of the grid for the upcoming Belgian Grand Prix after Red Bull elected to take on a host of new power unit elements, Formula1.com reports.

Impact The changes breach the season allocation for power unit parts on Hadjar's car. Once a driver incurs a penalty of 15 or more grid places, they have to drop to the rear of the field at the start of the grand prix. Hadjar will have more overtaking opportunities at Spa than most tracks, but still faces an uphill battle to race his way into the points on Sunday in the Belgian Grand Prix.

Solid finish in Britain Hadjar finished fifth at the British Grand Prix F1 race at Silverstone Circuit on Sunday.

Impact Hadjar didn't have a great start to the weekend, qualifying poorly for the sprint before losing a place to fall out of the points. However, he bounced back for the traditional portion of the weekend. Hadjar qualified fifth and finished in the same position, though he did benefit from the retirement of Max Verstappen and the damage suffered by Kimi Antonelli that pushed him down the field. Hadjar has finished inside the top six in five consecutive races.

Sixth in Austria Hadjar finished sixth in the Austrian Grand Prix F1 race at Red Bull Ring on Sunday.

Impact Red Bull introduced significant upgrades to its car, which helped Max Verstappen to his best finish of the season. Hadjar didn't have quite the same success, primarily due to only qualifying eighth for the race. Hadjar expressed satisfaction with his race after picking up two positions by picking off Charles Leclerc and Lando Norris, both of whom struggled on the weekend. Hadjar has now finished at least sixth in four consecutive grand prix.

Rebounds from poor start Hadjar finished sixth in the Barcelona-Catalunya Grand Prix F1 race at Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya on Sunday.

Impact Hadjar had an up-and-down weekend, first losing his podium in Monaco after the FIA reversed course on a penalty previously imposed on Pierre Gasly. He still managed a very strong qualifying session, finishing only five one-hundredths of a second off the pace of Max Verstappen to line up sixth on the grid. However, Hadjar had a disastrous start off the line, slipping all the way to 15th after his Red Bull was slow off the line. He then impressively drove his way back up the field to regain his original position. While the early slip doomed his ability to improve his position, Hadjar has finished sixth or better in three straight races.

Impact The P5 qualifying spot would pay big dividends for this young driver. Hadjar would battle drivability and engine power issues in the early laps but he would nurse his ailing car through those troubles. A late-race safety car would add some opportunity and the Red Bull Racing youngster would secure what would appear to be a P4 finish. However, a 10-second time penalty would demote Pierre Gasly and Hadjar would promote onto the podium in P3 for the first time in his career.

Career-Best Finish Hadjar finished fifth in the Canadian Grand Prix Formula 1 race at Circuit Gilles Villeneuve on Sunday afternoon.

Impact The Red Bull youngster qualified well and would start P7 on the grid. That good track position would lead to a heated battle early in the grand prix with Charles Leclerc. Hadjar would be hit with a 10-second penalty for dangerous driving as his defense was rather aggressive. However, the young driver had a good gap back to the field and would absorb the penalty well. Despite the mistakes Hadjar would enjoy a career-best P5 finish in Montreal.

Struggles in Miami Hadjar did not finish the Miami Grand Prix F1 race after crashing on Lap 5 at Miami International Autodrome on Sunday.

Impact Hadjar ran into significant struggles for the first time this season, which was odd timing considering Red Bull upgraded its car considerably in time for the Miami Grand Prix. He finished one position outside of the points in the sprint race, and he was disqualified from qualifying due to a breach in the floorboard regulations. In his effort to move back through the field during the race, he crashed at Turn 14 after clipping the wall. Hadjar should have the chance to fare better in Canada, given Red Bull's improved machinery.

Struggles with Energy Recovery Hadjar finished 12th in the Japanese Grand Prix Formula 1 race at the Suzuka Circuit on Sunday.

Impact Despite a good qualifying effort and P8 starting spot on the grid, Hadjar would have struggles at the Suzuka Circuit. The Red Bull youngster would deplete his battery early in the race and he would lose several positions as a result. He would drop to P11 by his lap 19 pit stop. The safety car a few laps later would stand his race strategy upside down. Hadjar would continue to struggle with energy recovery in the second half of the race and could only manage a P12 finish after losing a long battle with Nico Hulkenberg.

Impact Despite an impressive third-place qualifying effort and strong performance in the opening laps, Hadjar would suffer heartbreak in Melbourne.
