Impact The tough season for Alpine and youngster Colapinto continued Sunday in Abu Dhabi. He would be assessed for a start procedure violation and draw a corresponding penalty. The young driver would then execute a two-stop strategy that would do little to move him out of the back-end of the field. Colapinto would fall a lap down to the leaders after his second stop and would remain mired in the back of the field until the checkered flag.

Recovery from P20 Start Colapinto finished 14th the Qatar Grand Prix Formula 1 race at the Lusail International Circuit on Sunday.

Impact The Alpine youngster would start dead last in this 20-car field and begin to look for ways forward immediately. The early retirement of Nico Hulkenberg would help and then Colapinto would find his way around both Esteban Ocon and Lance Stroll. He would pit out of P16 to conclude his second stint. Colapinto would hang onto that track position gained and earn more thanks to a better race strategy than Stroll and the late-race mishap for Isack Hadjar. He would earn a reasonable P14 after starting last in the field.

P15 in Las Vegas Colapinto finished 15th in the Las Vegas Grand Prix Formula 1 race at the Las Vegas Strip Circuit on Saturday night.

Impact The young Alpine driver would avoid most of the chaos of the opening lap and that would be the good news. The bad news is that his car lacked a good amount of pace and he'd battle in the back-end all the way until his lap 25 pit stop. From there Colapinto would be mired deep in the order and fall a lap down to the leaders on lap 45. He'd eventually cross the finish line P17 as the last car running, but would later promote two spots thanks to the double McLaren disqualification. Colapinto will look for better results next round in Qatar.
