DNF in Singapore Grand Prix Colapinto suffered a mechanical failure and finished 21st in the Singapore Grand Prix Formula 1 race at the Marina Bay Circuit on Sunday.

Impact The young Alpine F1 driver would start P15 on the grid on medium tyres. He would attempt a long opening stint in the hopes that he would catch a safety car and get a cheap pit stop later in the race. However, Colapinto's race would take a turn for the worse on lap 31. His Alpine machine would begin to show signs of a problem and Colapinto would pull off to the side and initially stopping in the middle of the track with some type of mechanical issue. He would end up being the second retirement of the day and taking the disappointing DNF in Singapore.

Recovery Drive in Malaysia Colapinto finished 13th in the Bahrain Grand Prix in Malaysia Formula 1 race at the Sepang International Circuit on Sunday.

Impact After 5-place and 10-place grid penalties were applied, Colapinto would start this Bahrain GP from the back of the field. The young driver would start this wet race on slick tyres and that would be a strategy blunder on this day. However, Colapinto would take an early pit stop and intermediate tyres to correct the problem. The Alpine F1 driver would then fight through the field up to P13 by the checkered flag to salvage a decent day on the Sepang International Circuit.

Azerbaijan Crash Colapinto crashed and finished 17th in the Azerbaijan Grand Prix Formula 1 race at the Baku Street Circuit on Saturday afternoon.

Impact The Alpine youngster would start inside the Top 10 and race inside the points for most of the day. However, a lap 36 restart after the Alex Albon crash would see disaster in turn 1. Colapinto would jump into the inside lane aggressively and misjudge the braking distance into turn 1. He would collide with teammate, Pierre Gasly, and set off a chain reaction crash involving others. Both Alpine drivers suffered severe damage and would have to retire from the race. Colapinto would be hit with the disappointing DNF and 17th-place finish.

Strong Weekend in Spain Colapinto finished seventh in the Spanish Grand Prix Formula 1 race at the Madring Circuit on Sunday afternoon.

Impact The Alpine youngster put together a strong weekend of competition in Madrid. Colapinto would make it through to Q3 on Saturday and qualifying a strong P9 for the race. A strong start would propel him up to P7 in the early laps and anchor him well within points contention. The long opening stint was a great strategy for the young driver as he did a wonderful job of tyre preservation. Colapinto would get held up late in the grand prix by the Audis but would still collect the strong seventh-place finish in the Spanish Grand Prix.

Overcomes Error Colapinto finished ninth in the Italian Grand Prix Formula 1 race at the Monza Circuit on Sunday afternoon.

Impact Colapinto was set for a points drive Sunday at Monza after qualifying eighth and starting seventh on the grid. The early red-flag and restart would give him to climb the order early in the race. Colapinto would overtake Max Verstappen on the restart to briefly grab P3. He would lose control and slide off the track in turn 5 but would avoid any damage and rejoin back in P16. It was a costly error but Colapinto would soldier on to move back up through the order and overtake Yuki Tsunoda to claim a steady ninth-place finish in Italy.

Overtaking Under Double Yellow Colapinto finished 14th in the Dutch Grand Prix Formula 1 race at the Zandvoort Circuit on Sunday afternoon.

Impact The Alpine F1 youngster would start 14th on the grid and look to embark on a points drive Sunday in Zandvoort. However, the lap 1 crash of Max Verstappen would bring out the double yellow flags and Colapinto would be caught overtaking Yuki Tsunoda during the incident. However, an anxious moment would happen on lap 22 when he would be harvesting energy going into the Spoon curve and find himself a sitting duck in the track for a much faster Oliver Bearman. Impact The young Alpine driver would avoid most of the chaos of the opening lap and that would be the good news. The bad news is that his car lacked a good amount of pace and he'd battle in the back-end all the way until his lap 25 pit stop. From there Colapinto would be mired deep in the order and fall a lap down to the leaders on lap 45. He'd eventually cross the finish line P17 as the last car running, but would later promote two spots thanks to the double McLaren disqualification. Colapinto will look for better results next round in Qatar.
