Mexico City GP: 'I was excited to battle him!' Max Verstappen has thrilling P2 battle with Charles Leclerc disrupted by VSC ending Max Verstappen left disappointed after his thrilling chase to Leclerc disrupted by a Virtual Safety Car in a chaotic Mexico City Grand Prix!
OCTOBER 26 • SKY.COM
Runner-up Finish in Mexico Leclerc finished second in the Mexico City Grand Prix Formula 1 race at Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez on Sunday afternoon.
Impact The Ferrari star would start the race on soft tyres and was able to retain second-place despite the wild opening lap. Leclerc would then settle in and ride P2 until his lap 31 pit stop. He would rejoin in third-place but would soon retake P2 on Verstappen's pit stop. Leclerc would do well to hold off a hard-charging Verstappen down the stretch and seemingly a late virtual safety car would help him to hang onto P2 at Mexico City. It was his seventh podium of the season.

Leads FP1 in Mexico City Leclerc finished fastest in Free Practice 1 for the Mexico City Grand Prix, the Ferrari driver heading Kimi Antonelli and Nico Hulkenberg, Formula1.com reports.
Impact A number of junior drivers participated in this opening practice for Mexico City weekend. It would result in a bit different looking list of names on the top of the timing sheets at the end of the hour-long session. Leclerc would post a lap of 1:18.380 of the Mexico circuit to edge Antonelli by just one-tenth. The Ferrari star is fresh off a podium performance in Austin and looking for his first victory of the season this Sunday in Mexico.

Strong Performance in Austin Leclerc finished third in the United States Grand Prix Formula 1 race at Circuit of the Americas on Sunday afternoon.
Impact Leclerc would start the grand prix on soft tyres and take full advantage of that grip early in the race. He'd get around Lando Norris at the start and claim P2 right after the lights out. The Ferrari star would hold that spot down until Norris would take the spot back on lap 21. The rest of the event would be a duel between the two and see Leclerc once again occupy P2 late before Norris would retake the position down the stretch. Leclerc would end up grabbing third and his sixth podium of the season.

P6 at Marina Bay Circuit Leclerc finished sixth in the Singapore Grand Prix Formula 1 race at the Marina Bay Circuit on Sunday.
Impact The Ferrari star would start seventh on the grid after a subpar qualifying effort. Leclerc wanted much more and would have to try to earn it during the race. He'd grab two spots on the opening lap and things would look very promising after the lights out. However, his undercut attempt and pit stop on lap 21 would bear mixed results. Leclerc would rejoin P9 but wouldn't be able to make too much headway. He would race up to P5 down the stretch but would see that spot stolen away by Kimi Antonelli on the final lap.

Struggles to P9 in Baku Leclerc finished ninth in the Azerbaijan Grand Prix Formula 1 race at the Baku City Circuit on Sunday afternoon.
Impact On a weekend that looked so promising for Ferrari at the Baku City Circuit, it would be nothing but struggles for Leclerc. Starting 10th on the grid he'd run long in his opening stint but try to undercut the leaders by pitting on lap 36. The ploy wouldn't work and Leclerc would rejoin in the middle of a DRS train that wouldn't offer any hope of moving forward. He'd lose a spot late to Lewis Hamilton and cross the stripe P9 at the checkered flag. He'll look to rebound next round out in Singapore.

P4 at Italian Grand Prix Leclerc finished fourth in the Italian Grand Prix Formula 1 race at the Monza Circuit on Sunday afternoon.
Impact Leclerc would surprise Oscar Piastri on the opening lap and get around the McLaren youngster by the time lap 2 concluded. He would briefly hold down third-place as Piastri would rally back past the Ferrari star on lap 6. Leclerc would run a single stop strategy with pit stop on lap 33. That would anchor him into P4 although George Russell would pressure him at times. Leclerc would eventually build a gap back to the Mercedes veteran and finish just over 7 seconds ahead of him at the checkered flag for a strong P4 at Monza.

Crash and DNF at Zandvoort Leclerc crashed and finished 19th in the Dutch Grand Prix Formula 1 race at Circuit Zandvoort on Sunday afternoon.
Impact The Ferrari star would be battling between fourth- and fifth-place for most of the grand prix. Leclerc would pit on lap 51 to take on fresh tyres for the final stint of the day. However, when he would rejoin the track he would blend with Kimi Antonelli and the two would battle into turn 3. The young Mercedes driver would make an ill-advised move to pass on the inside of the turn and drift up the banking and into Leclerc. The two would make contact and Leclerc would nose hard into the wall, ending his day in Zandvoort.

Disappointing P4 in Budapest Leclerc finished fourth in the Hungarian Grand Prix Formula 1 race at the Hungaroring circuit on Sunday.
Impact After starting on the pole and leading 28 laps in the first half of the grand prix, poor pit strategy and a fading car would hit Leclerc. A second pit stop earlier than most of the two-stop teams at lap 40 would make for a 30-lap run to the finish. That was longer than his Ferrari could hold up and he'd quickly lose P2 to Oscar Piasti and later lose P3 to a surging George Russell. Leclerc would end up missing the podium on a day that he had the pace to challenge for the win.

Grabs Belgian Grand Prix Pole Leclerc grabbed pole position in dramatic circumstances at the end of Saturday's Qualifying session for the Hungarian Grand Prix, pulling a lap out of the bag to beat McLaren pair...
Impact Leclerc would get through Q1 easy enough, but rain drops in Q2 would affect track conditions and make things a bit tricky. The Ferrari star would advance into Q3 and post a shocking lap of 1:15.372 to beat out the McLaren duo by mere thousandths to claim pole position. It was Leclerc's first pole of the season and 27th-career pole position. He'll challenge the McLaren's for the win Sunday in Budapest.

Podium in Belgium Lelcerc finished third in the Belgian Grand Prix Formula 1 race at the Spa-Francorchamps circuit on Sunday afternoon.
Impact The Ferrari star would initially get around Lando Norris in the early laps but would surrender that spot back later once DRS was enabled on the drying track. Leclerc would firmly entrench himself in P3 and defend against many challenges from Max Verstappen. He would manage the race well and hold off the Red Bull Racing star by just over 1.5-seconds at the checkered flag to grab his fifth podium of the season.
JULY 27 • ROTOWIRE
Poor Strategy Leclerc finished 14th in the British Grand Prix Formula 1 race at the Silverstone Circuit on Sunday afternoon.
Impact The Ferrari star was one of a handful of drivers who would pit during the formation lap and forfeit his sixth-place starting spot on the grid in order to grab slick tyres before the lights out. Leclerc would drop to P15 after the race got rolling and would be mired deep in the field the rest of the way. He would claw his way back inside the Top 10 late in the grand prix just in time for his second pit stop and would drop back to P14 as a result and where he'd ride for the rest of the way. Leclerc will look to rebound next round out in Belgium.

Leads Final Practice Ferrari driver Leclerc topped the timesheets during Saturday's final practice session for the British Grand Prix, leading the way from McLaren rival Oscar Piastri and Red Bull's Ma...
Impact Cooler more overcast conditions would greet drivers Saturday at Silverstone. The additional grip would help the already quick Ferraris as Lewis Hamilton would be one of the early leaders in lap time. Leclerc would bolt on soft tyres late in the session, which would be twice interrupted for crashes, and logged a lap of 1:25.498. That would be 0.068-seconds better than Piastri to lead the session. Leclerc has shown good speed so far this weekend and should challenge the podium Sunday in the British GP.
JULY 5 • ROTOWIRE
Podium in Austria Leclerc finished third in the Austrian Grand Prix Formula 1 race at the Red Bull Ring on Sunday afternoon.
Impact Leclerc would lose P2 on the opening lap to Oscar Piastri and he would then settle in and anchor down third-place from that point on. A long opening stint would see the Ferrari star pit on lap 25 and that would help him to secure P2 going forward. Leclerc was able to manage a good gap back to teammate, Lewis Hamilton, and would really never fall any serious threat for third-place. He would cross the finish line almost 10-seconds ahead of Hamilton to secure the final spot on the podium in Spielberg.
JUNE 29 • ROTOWIRE
Earns P5 in Canadian GP Leclerc finished fifth in the Canadian Grand Prix Formula 1 race at Circuit Gilles-Villeneuve on Sunday afternoon.
Impact The Ferrari star would rebound well from his practice crash earlier in the weekend in Canada. Leclerc would come from eighth on the starting grid and use a long opening stint to race up to P2. A shorter second stint would allow him to briefly lead the race for 6 laps during the second round of stops. Leclerc would largely hold onto that track position gained and finish a strong P5 at Circuit Gilles-Villeneuve on Sunday.
JUNE 16 • ROTOWIRE
FP1 Crash in Canada Leclerc crashed in FP! for the Canadian Grand Prix Formula 1 race at Circuit Gilles Villeneuve on Friday.
Impact Leclerc would look strong early and be one of the pace setters with a lap of 1:13.885. However, on his ninth circuit of the Canadian road course he would lock up entering turn 4 and find the barriers with hard contact. The incident would bring out the red flag for brief cleanup and end Leclerc's opening session. He'll look to rebound in the second practice session later Friday.
