Impact Brzykcy will join the Nationals' bullpen as a replacement for Lucas Sims, who was released by the team Friday. Brzykcy has given up two earned runs while striking out nine batters in 4.2 innings at Triple-A, and he gave up one run in one inning during his season debut for Washington on Tuesday. He'll likely fill in as a low-leverage arm for now.

Heads back to Triple-A The Nationals optioned Brzykcy to Triple-A Rochester on Wednesday.

Impact Brzykcy will return to the minors after he was summoned from Rochester to serve as the Nationals' 27th man for Tuesday's doubleheader with the Guardians. The righty reliever pitched the final inning of the Nationals' 9-1 loss in Game 2, giving up one earned run on two hits and one walk while striking out a batter.

27th man for twin bill The Nationals recalled Brzykcy from Triple-A Rochester on Tuesday, Mark Zuckerman of MASNSports.com reports.

Impact Brzykcy will serve as the 27th man for Tuesday's doubleheader against the Guardians. The 25-year-old began the season on the 15-day injured list with a quad strain, but he's healthy now and has yielded just two runs with a 14:3 K:BB over 7.2 innings in the minors in 2025.

Reinstated, optioned to Triple-A The Nationals reinstated Brzykcy (quadriceps) from the 15-day injured list Friday and optioned him to Triple-A Rochester.

Impact The right-hander was sidelined for the first month of the campaign due to a quadriceps strain, but he won't join the big club upon the completion of his four-game rehab assignment. Brzykcy received his first taste of the majors last season with six relief appearances and gave up nine earned runs over 5.2 innings.

Impact Brzykcy strained his quad early on in spring training and was limited to just one appearance on the mound. Now healthy, Brzykcy will get his arm conditioned in the minors before a potential return to the big leagues. Brzykcy pitched at High-A, Double-A, Triple-A and in the majors during the 2024 campaign. In 5.2 innings with the Nationals last season, Brzykcy registered a 14.29 ERA and 4:3 K:BB.
