Dealt to Reds
The Reds acquired McCambley from the Marlins on Thursday in exchange for Rece Hinds, Isaac Azout of FishOnFirst.com reports.
Impact
McCambley was a Rule 5 pick of the Phillies over the offseason but was returned to the Marlins. He's now on the move again and will give the Reds bullpen depth at Triple-A Louisville. McCambley has collected a 2.36 ERA and 32:17 K:BB across 26.2 frames this season at Triple-A Jacksonville.

Returned to Miami
McCambley was returned to the Marlins on Sunday after being waived by the Phillies.
Impact
The right-hander was selected by the Phillies during the Rule 5 Draft in December but missed out on the Opening Day roster after giving up one run with a 4:6 K:BB across 7.1 innings during spring training, so he had to be returned to his former organization. McCambley finished last season a Triple-A Jacksonville, where he had a 3.67 ERA, 1.21 WHIP and 53:16 K:BB across 42.1 innings.

Stolen by Phillies
The Phillies selected McCambley with the 12th pick in the Rule 5 Draft on Wednesday.
Impact
A third-round pick in 2020, McCambley spent the first five-plus years of his pro career in the Marlins organization. He reached Triple-A for the first time in 2025 as a reliever, logging a 3.32 ERA, 1.18 WHIP and 52:15 K:BB in 40.2 innings across 36 appearances. His stuff isn't quite as good as his 2025 results might indicate, but he has a quality slider and cutter to help offset the fact his fastball sits in the 93-95 mph range with poor movement.
