Clubs homer Friday
Veen went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run and a walk in Friday's 5-2 win over the Giants.
Impact
Veen has homered in both of his games in the majors this season, and they've both come on the road. The outfielder hasn't been unleashed for an everyday role yet, but he looks poised to settle into a strong-side platoon role in right field along with Jordan Beck. Veen batted .327 and slugged .635 over 100 games with Triple-A Albequerque this year prior to his call-up, and his favorable home park in the majors could allow him to maintain plenty of power if he plays regularly down the stretch.

The Rockies recalled Veen from Triple-A Albuquerque on Tuesday, Kyle Newman of The Denver Post reports.
Impact
Veen will make his first stint with the big-league club this year after logging just 37 plate appearances last season. In Triple-A, the 24-year-old has posted a scorching-hot .327/.402/.635 with 24 home runs, 87 RBI and 18 stolen bases in 445 plate appearances. Reinstated, optioned to Triple-A
The Rockies reinstated Veen (knee) from the injured list Saturday and optioned him to Triple-A Albuquerque.
Impact
A bruised knee prevented Veen from playing during the second half of the Cactus League, but he was cleared to begin playing in rehab games Wednesday and has since gone 1-for-11 with five strikeouts. Although he's now fully healthy, the Rockies will keep him in the minors a bit longer and give him a chance to get back on track at the plate before he receives another look in the bigs.

Starts rehab assignment
Veen (knee) went 0-for-4 with three strikeouts in his first rehab game with Triple-A Albuquerque on Tuesday.
Impact
Veen served as the designated hitter for the Isotopes in what was his first game action in three weeks as he works his way back from a right knee contusion. The 24-year-old created some buzz early in spring training with his new physique and a couple home runs before the knee issue sidetracked him. Veen is likely to remain at Albuquerque once his rehab assignment is over, but he could push for a role with the Rockies at some point this season.

Lands on injured list
The Rockies placed Veen (knee) on the 10-day injured list Wednesday.
Impact
Veen suffered a knee contusion in early March and was sidelined for the closing stretch of spring training, so it's not a major surprise he won't be available to begin the season. The 24-year-old made his MLB debut and batted .118 in 37 plate appearances last year, and he could be headed back to Triple-A Albuquerque once healthy.

Sitting with bruised knee
Veen has been sidelined since March 9 due to a right knee contusion.
Impact
Veen injured himself sliding while trying to make a catch in the outfield. He had been slashing .250/.375/.550 with a pair of homers and four RBI through 24 plate appearances in the Cactus League, but his extended absence could be a sign that he won't be available for Opening Day.

Gets sober, adds muscle
Veen revealed this week that he got sober over the offseason and now weighs 245 pounds after finishing last season at 202 pounds, Thomas Harding of MLB.com reports.
Impact
Veen said that he had "a pretty big substance abuse problem for a few years," but he's been able to "cut that out of my lifestyle and replace (it) with protein" to remake his body. According to Johnny Goodrich, Veen's high school coach who he remains in touch with, the outfielder's speed and exit velocities have improved with the added muscle. Veen went just 4-for-34 at the plate during his brief time with the Rockies last season and is likely ticketed for Triple-A Albuquerque to begin the 2026 campaign, but the 24-year-old could eventually force his way into the mix.

Unlikely to make initial roster
Veen will likely need an injury in Colorado's outfield to have a chance to make the Opening Day roster, Kyle Newman of the Denver Post reports.
Impact
The Rockies have a relatively set starting group in the outfield, with Brenton Doyle, Mickey Moniak, Jordan Beck and Jake McCarthy projected to earn the majority of playing time. That leaves Veen on the outside looking in fora potential roster spot at the start of spring training. He had a brief stint in the majors in 2025, but he struck out 37.8 percent of the time across 37 plate appearances before being demoted and spending the rest of the campaign at Triple-A Albuquerque.
