Homers in return to majors Pozo went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Monday's loss to the Pirates.
Impact Playing in his first game at the major-league level since 2021, Pozo lined one over the left-field wall off of Carmen Mlodzinski in the sixth inning for his second career home run. The 27-year-old boasts a career .321/.343/.545 batting line at the Triple-A level, but it's unlikely he will see enough playing time to make a fantasy impact over the next few weeks while Ivan Herrera (knee) is shelved.

As Ivan Herrera lands on IL, Cardinals promote catcher Yohel Pozo to majors To add Yohel Pozo to their 40-man roster, the Cardinals moved left-hander Zack Thompson (left lat strain) to the 60-day injured list.
APRIL 7 • STLTODAY.COM
Officially added to roster The Cardinals selected Pozo's contract from Triple-A Memphis on Monday.
Impact Pozo will serve as the team's backup catcher behind Pedro Pages for at least the next 10 days while Ivan Herrera (knee) is shelved. The 27-year-old Pozo was off to a hot start at Memphis with two homers and three doubles over his first 21 plate appearances.

Set to be called up Monday Pozo is set to be called up from Triple-A Memphis on Monday, John Denton of MLB.com reports.
Impact Pozo will join the major-league roster ahead of the team's three-game series in Pittsburgh beginning Monday. With Ivan Herrera (knee) set to be placed on the 10-day injured list, Pozo will operate as the Cardinals' backup catcher behind Pedro Pages for the time being.
APRIL 7 • ROTOWIRE
Sent to minor-league camp The Cardinals reassigned Pozo to minor-league camp Monday.
Impact Pozo received a late invitation to big-league camp but never made much of a push for a spot on the Opening Day roster with the Cardinals likely to begin the season with Pedro Pages and Ivan Herrera as their catching tandem. The 27-year-old Pozo hasn't seen MLB action since 2021 with the Rangers and will likely spend the majority of the 2025 campaign at Triple-A Memphis.
MARCH 17 • ROTOWIRE
MiLB deal with St. Louis The Cardinals signed Pozo to a minor-league contract Tuesday.
Impact Pozo, 27, boasts a .321/.343/.542 batting line over the last four seasons at the Triple-A level but has received just 77 plate appearances in the majors, and those came back in 2021. He'll give the Cardinals some catching depth at Triple-A Memphis.
JANUARY 28 • ROTOWIRE
Links up with Atlanta Atlanta signed Pozo to a minor-league contract Wednesday.
Impact Pozo's lone action in the big leagues came in 2021, but he's been raking at the Triple-A level since then, most recently slashing .324/.335/.538 with 15 home runs over 90 games with Las Vegas in the Athletics organization. Atlanta has an opening at backup catcher following the departure of Travis d'Arnaud, although Chadwick Tromp has a leg up for that job.
NOVEMBER 14, 2024 • ROTOWIRE
Re-signs with A's Pozo signed a minor-league contract with the Athletics on Saturday, Matt Eddy of Baseball America reports.
Impact Pozo spent all of last season with Triple-A Las Vegas and put together a solid campaign, slashing .306/.338/.523 with 18 homers and 81 RBI. The 26-year-old backstop isn't listed on Oakland's 40-man roster, but Pozo could work his way back into the majors if he keeps hitting and Shea Langeliers and Tyler Soderstrom continue to struggle in the bigs.
NOVEMBER 11, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Enjoying another strong season Pozo, who went 5-for-6 with four RBI and two runs in Triple-A Las Vegas' win over Salt Lake on Tuesday, owns a .316 average and .859 OPS across 180 plate appearances over 42 games...
Impact Pozo has had the good fortune of playing in the hitter-friendly environment of the Pacific Coast League for three seasons now, dating back to his time at Round Rock when he was with the Rangers organization. In fairness, the 26-year-old backstop has been impressive at the plate in most of his minor-league stops -- as well as in a 77-plate-appearance big-league stint back in 2021 -- during a professional career that dates back to 2016. However, with Shea Langeliers and Tyler Soderstrom at the big-league level, Pozo remains on the farm despite the current IL stints of veteran backups Manny Pina (wrist) and Carlos Perez (thumb).
JULY 19, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Back with Rangers Pozo signed a minor-league contract with the Rangers on Wednesday.
Impact Pozo played 17 games at designated hitter and two at catcher while hitting .284/.312/.378 with one home run in 77 MLB plate appearances last season. He hit .337/.352/.622 with 23 home runs in 77 games as a 24-year-old at Triple-A, but his lack of defensive utility may limit his opportunities going forward.
DECEMBER 2, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
Let go by Texas Pozo was non-tendered by the Rangers on Tuesday.
Impact Pozo made his big-league debut in 2021 and hit .284/.312/.378 in 21 games. He spent most of the campaign at Triple-A Rock Rock, where he found more offensive success with a .962 OPS and 23 homers.
DECEMBER 1, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
Optioned to Triple-A Pozo was optioned to Triple-A Round Rock on Friday.
Impact While Pozo had some impressive offensive performances since being recalled in mid-August, his .284/.312/.378 slash line while serving primarily as a designated hitter results in him being sent back to the minors. Andy Ibanez (hamstring) was activated from the 10-day injured list to take his spot on the 28-man roster.
SEPTEMBER 17, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
Loses hold of primary DH role Pozo is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Astros.
Impact Pozo is on the bench for a second straight game, and with Willie Calhoun (forearm) returning from the 60-day injured list Wednesday, Pozo's time as the Rangers' primary designated hitter looks to be over. Following his Aug. 13 call-up from Triple-A Round Rock, Pozo went 4-for-8 with a home run and three RBI in his first two games, but he slashed a pedestrian .258/.292/.323 with no home runs, six RBI and seven runs in 16 contests thereafter.
SEPTEMBER 15, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
Absent from Tuesday's lineup Pozo is not starting Tuesday against Houston.
Impact Pozo takes a seat after going 0-for-4 in Monday's loss. Nick Solak will DH as Yonny Hernandez shifts to second base Tuesday.
