Available off bench Wednesday Orioles manager Craig Albernaz said that Pozo (finger) will be available off the bench for Wednesday's game in Minnesota, Matt Weyrich of The Baltimore Sun reports.

Impact Pozo had to be removed from Tuesday's contest with a finger injury after taking a bat to the catcher's mitt, but X-rays were clean and he won't have any limitations Wednesday. The 29-year-old is 3-for-10 with a home run early on in his tenure in Baltimore.

X-rays negative X-rays on Pozo's left index finger came back negative following his removal from Tuesday's game against the Twins, Andy Kostka of TheBanner.com reports.

Impact Pozo was pulled from Tuesday's contest immediately after taking a pitch off his hand in the third inning, but he managed to escape the incident without suffering structural damage. He may be held out of action for a day or two while he deals with lingering soreness, giving more opportunities to Carlos Narvaez.

Joining big-league roster The Orioles recalled Pozo from Double-A Chesapeake on Monday.

Impact Baltimore optioned Pozo to the minors after claiming him off waivers from St. Louis last week, but after playing in just two games at Double-A, he's been summoned to the big club. The Orioles designated Sam Huff in a corresponding move, leaving Pozo and Chadwick Tromp as their two backstops while Adley Rutschman (wrist) and Samuel Basallo (shoulder) are on the shelf. While Tromp has more experience handling the Orioles' pitching staff, he's produced a weak .577 OPS over parts of seven seasons in the majors, so it wouldn't be surprising if Pozo gets a look as the team's top backstop until one of Rutschman or Basallo returns. Pozo owns a .637 OPS across 278 career big-league plate appearances and slashed .231/.255/.385 in 23 games between two minor-league stops this season.

Impact Pozo will supplement Baltimore's catching depth as it navigates the losses of Adley Rutschman (wrist) and Samuel Basallo (shoulder). The 29-year-old catcher has slashed .247/.273/.363 across parts of three big-league seasons and .641 OPS in the minors this season. Pozo will report to Triple-A Norfolk for the time being.
