Picks up third save Cano picked up the save Sunday against the Athletics. He did not record a strikeout over a perfect inning.

Impact Entering with a three-run cushion, Cano retired the side in order in the ninth inning to secure his third save of the season and a sweep for the Orioles. After a pair of blowup outings in which he surrendered six runs across two-thirds of an inning, the right-hander has bounced back with five consecutive scoreless appearances, though Sunday marked the first time during that stretch that he completed a full inning. Cano's 3.07 ERA, 1.05 WHIP and 40:10 K:BB across 44 innings are strong enough to keep him in the ninth-inning equation, though Andrew Kittredge, who had pitched in each of the previous two games, appears to be Baltimore's top option for saves.

Pockets second save Cano gave up a hit and struck out two in a scoreless ninth inning Tuesday to record his second save of the season in a 3-1 win over the Angels.

Impact Rico Garcia worked the seventh inning and Andrew Kittredge the eighth, leaving closing duties to Cano this time around. Tyler Wells has been the only Baltimore pitcher to collect multiple saves since the All-Star break so far, and he was shipped to Tampa Bay at the trade deadline. The Orioles will likely continue deploying a closing committee until one of Ryan Helsley (elbow) or Felix Bautista (shoulder) get healthy, but neither is expected back until late August or early September in a best-case scenario. Cano is at least doing his part to remain a key member of that committee -- he's been scored upon just once in 13 appearances since the beginning of July, posting a 0.77 ERA, 0.77 WHIP and 7:1 K:BB during that stretch with one win, one save and two holds.

Cleans up mess for save Cano allowed a hit and struck out one while walking none over two-thirds of a scoreless inning to earn the save in Saturday's 3-2 win over the Dodgers.

Impact Baltimore didn't want to go back to Ryan Helsley after the closer took a blown save Friday in just his second appearance returning from elbow inflammation. Andrew Kittredge was initially given the opportunity, but he allowed a solo home run to Shohei Ohtani and then put Freddie Freeman aboard with a walk. Cano was next in line, and while he allowed a single and an error to let an inherited runner score, he was able to keep the lead for his first save of the season. Cano has been charged with just one unearned run over 6.1 innings in June, adding a 9:1 K:BB and two holds over nine outings. He's at a 2.08 ERA, 0.81 WHIP and 25:5 K:BB through 26 innings with one save and six holds. He's also allowed four of 20 inherited runners to score, an improvement on last year when he permitted 10 of 21 inherited runners to score.
