Impact Adames provided the bulk of Milwaukee's offense in the contest, tagging Luke Weaver for a solo homer in the first inning and a two-run shot in the third. The shortstop has found his power stroke of late, swatting four homers and driving in eight runs over his past four games. His overall slash line still sits at just .213/.294/.415, but with 16 long balls before the All-Star break, Adames has a shot at a second consecutive 30-homer campaign.

Goes deep in win Adames went 2-for-5 with a homer, a double, three RBI and two runs scored in Friday's win against the Reds.

Impact Adames doubled in a run in the first inning before ripping a two-run shot in the fifth. It's been a tough year for the slugging shortstop but he's starting to come around lately; after an 0-for-22 slump, Adames has gone 10-for-33 (.303) with seven extra-base hits and nine RBI over his last eight games. However, his season slash line still sits at .209/.293/.395 through 338 plate appearances.

Impact Adames broke a 1-1 tie with a solo shot in the sixth inning. For awhile it looked like that would hold up as the game-winner, but a ninth-inning Chicago comeback turned the outcome around. The long ball was Adames' first since June 23, a span of 12 games. It also extended his modest hitting streak to six contests, during which he's batting .308 with five extra-base hits and five RBI.

The 27-year-old has seemingly made strong progress in his recovery over the past week and a half, and heading out on a rehab assignment marks the final hurdle he'll need to clear before being activated. Assuming Adames experiences no setbacks coming out of Sunday's contest, he'll shift his rehab assignment to Triple-A Nashville, where he's expected to make starts at shortstop Tuesday and Wednesday.

Impact Adames won't join the Brewers during their current series in Cincinnati.
