Andres Machado - Returns to minors Machado was optioned to Triple-A Rochester on Wednesday.
Impact The righty appeared in four games after being recalled June 27, allowing one run and striking out six in four innings while not issuing a single free pass. Machado gets demoted to make way for now-healthy setup man Daniel Hudson, but his success could lead to another big-league opportunity at some point this season.

Daniel Hudson - Activated from IL The Nationals reinstated Hudson (elbow) from the 10-day injured list Wednesday.
Impact Hudson, who was placed on the IL on June 12 with right elbow inflammation, returns to reinforce the Nationals' injury-plagued relief corps. Before the injury, the righty posted a 2.59 ERA, struck out 35 batters and recorded 12 holds in 24.1 innings. Andres Machado was optioned to Triple-A Rochester in a corresponding move.
