Anthony Bender - Throws bullpen session Bender (back) threw a 15-pitch bullpen session Thursday, Jordan McPherson of the Miami Herald reports.

Impact Bender resumed playing catch last week, but he was able to throw off a mound Thursday. The right-hander exclusively threw fastballs during the bullpen session, but it was a significant step forward in his recovery process. Assuming he continues to ramp up his workload in the coming days, it wouldn't be surprising to see him return to game action action at some point next week.

Brian Anderson - Dealing with mild disc bulge Anderson (back) is dealing with a mild disc bulge in his lumbar spine, Jesse Dougherty of The Washington Post reports.

Impact Anderson has been sidelined since May 28, and he underwent an MRI on Tuesday that helped to clarify his diagnosis. The 29-year-old doesn't yet have a timetable to resume baseball activities, but Jon Berti should continue to serve as the primary third baseman while Anderson and Joey Wendle (hamstring) are unavailable.

Sean Doolittle - Throwing from 75 feet Doolittle (elbow) has been throwing from 75 feet recently, Jesse Dougherty of The Washington Post reports.

Impact Doolittle was cleared to begin a throwing program this week and has progressed well in his rehab after receiving a PRP injection in late April. The southpaw still needs to increase his intensity, so he's likely several weeks away from returning to game action.

Aníbal Sánchez - Throws light bullpen session Sanchez (neck) threw 27 pitches in a light bullpen session Friday, Jesse Dougherty of The Washington Post reports.

Impact Sanchez began his throwing program a month ago but isn't particularly close to returning to game action. The right-hander wasn't able to throw much intensity during Friday's bullpen, and he'll likely require time at the team's extended spring training facility in Florida before he's ultimately cleared to begin a rehab assignment.
