Sidelined with oblique injury
Suero was placed on the 10-day injured list Sunday due to a left oblique strain, Dan Kolko of MASN Sports reports.
Impact
Suero was removed from Saturday's win over Arizona with what was initially labeled as a left side injury, but follow-up tests revealed that he was dealing with a more serious oblique strain. Given the volatile recovery timelines associated with oblique injuries, Suero could be sidelined longer than the minimum 10 days. Washington recalled right-hander Ryne Harper from its alternate site to fill Suero's spot in the bullpen.

Dealing with side injury
Suero is undergoing an MRI on his left side after exiting Saturday's game against Arizona, Mark Zuckerman of MASNSports.com reports.
Impact
The 29-year-old issued a walk and delivered two pitches to another batter before being removed from Saturday's contest with the injury. Suero should be considered day-to-day until the team announces the results of the MRI.

Having dominant spring
Suero has yet to give up a run over five Grapefruit League appearances (five innings) while posting a 9:1 K:BB.
Impact
The 29-year-old right-hander has been well ahead of the batters he's faced so far. Suero isn't expected to factor into the saves mix for the Nats this season, but after finishing second on the team in holds in 2020 and recording 25 holds over the last two years while posting a strikeout rate north of 27 percent, he should be an important bridge to the team's set-up arms like Will Harris and Daniel Hudson.

Collects second win
Suero (2-0) picked up the win in the second game of Friday's doubleheader against Atlanta, striking out two in a perfect inning of relief.
Impact
He was the fourth Nats pitcher to enter the game but the first to keep the opposition off the scoreboard, leading to the win in an eventual 10-9 victory. Suero remains in a fairly low-leverage role, and while his 17:4 K:BB through 15.2 innings is strong, he has a mediocre 4.60 ERA and 1.28 WHIP plus zero saves or holds in 13 appearances.
