Rehab starting Sunday
Suero (oblique) will begin a rehab assignment Sunday with Triple-A Rochester, Mark Zuckerman of MASNSports.com reports.
Impact
Suero has been out with a strained oblique since mid-April. He threw 22 pitches in a simulated game Thursday, so he shouldn't be too far from returning to the active roster if he gets through a rehab appearance without issues.

Rehab assignment on tap
Suero (oblique) threw 22 pitches in a simulated game Thursday, Jesse Dougherty of The Washington Post reports.
Impact
Following his successful throwing session Thursday, Suero will now report to Triple-A Rochester for a rehab assignment Friday or Saturday. Manager Dave Martinez wouldn't commit to Suero returning to the majors in time for the Nationals' weekend series against the Yankees, but the right-hander appears to be nearing his return.

Ready for sim game
Suero (oblique) is scheduled to face four hitters and throw around 20-to-25 pitches in a simulated game Thursday, Mark Zuckerman of MASNSports.com reports.
Impact
He'll be entering the simulated game after fellow rehabbing pitcher Stephen Strasburg (shoulder), who is expected to toss 35-to-40 pitches. If Suero's oblique responds well to the outing, he could be sent to Triple-A Rochester for what would likely be a brief rehab assignment before he returns from the 10-day injured list.

Begins throwing program
Suero (oblique) began a throwing program Monday, Jesse Dougherty of The Washington Post reports.
Impact
Suero has already spent the required 10 days on the injured list with his oblique strain, but he'll need more time since he's only just resumed throwing. He's hoping to throw a bullpen session by the end of the week.

Progressing in recovery
Manager Davey Martinez said Suero (oblique) is "doing great" and is simulating throws, Mark Zuckerman of MASNSports.com reports.
Impact
Suero was placed on the injured list April 18 and is eligible to return May 1. Given that he has yet to actually throw to this point, that may not be realistic. However, it appears that the team is optimistic about the way his recovery is going.
