INJURIES

Hurt by home-run ball again Bellozo didn't factor into Thursday's decision against the Rockies, allowing six runs on seven hits and two walks over four innings. He struck out four.
Impact After posting a 2.45 ERA in his first 33 big-league innings, Bellozo's now given up 11 earned runs and six homers in his last two outings (8.2 innings). The rookie right-hander now sports a 4.32 ERA with a 1.34 WHIP and 32:15 K:BB across eight starts (41.2 innings) with Miami this year. Bellozo will look to bounce back in his next outing, currently scheduled for early next week at home versus the Nationals.
AUGUST 30, 2024 • ROTOWIRE
Gives up three homers in loss Bellozo (2-2) took the loss Saturday against the Cubs. He allowed six runs (five earned) over 4.2 innings with seven hits, four walks and one strikeout.
Impact Bellozo gave up a pair home runs to Seiya Suzuki and another to Pete Crow-Armstrong to match the total from his first six career stats. The rookie right-hander has now given up five or more runs in two starts this season but has kept teams under two runs in his other five starts. The 24-year-old will carry a 3.35 ERA into his next start against the Rockies.
AUGUST 24, 2024 • ROTOWIRE
Fans four in 5.1 innings Bellozo did not factor into the decision in Sunday's win against the Mets, allowing two earned runs on seven hits and two walks while striking out four in 5.1 innings.
Impact Coming off consecutive scoreless starts, Bellozo wasn't quite as dominant Sunday, allowing seven hits including a solo home run by Brandon Nimmo in the sixth inning. Still, Bellozo was effective and now sports a 2.45 ERA, 1.06 WHIP and 27:8 K:BB in 33 innings (six starts). The 24-year-old owns a modest 7.4 K/9, but his ability to consistently induce weak contact has allowed him to thrive in his rookie season. He will look to keep rolling in his next start, currently scheduled for next weekend against the Cubs.
AUGUST 18, 2024 • ROTOWIRE
Another scoreless outing vs. Philly Bellozo (2-1) earned the win Tuesday over the Phillies, allowing four hits and one walk over seven scoreless innings. He struck out four.
Impact It was an impressive performance from Bellozo against a potent Phillies lineup -- the 24-year-old right-hander has now won back-to-back starts while delivering 12.2 scoreless innings. Bellozo doesn't have overpowering stuff, but he's shown an ability to limit hard contact early in his MLB career. Bellozo's ERA is down to 2.28 with a 0.94 WHIP and 23:6 K:BB through his first five outings (27.2 innings). He's currently lined up to face the Diamondbacks at home in his next start.

Blanks Cincy for first MLB win Bellozo (1-1) picked up the win in Wednesday's 6-4 victory over the Reds, allowing five hits and two walks over 5.2 scoreless innings. He struck out four.
Impact Making his fourth career big-league start, Bellozo fell just short of recording his first career quality start as well as his first win, getting lifted after 92 pitches (56 strikes). The 24-year-old right-hander has given the Marlins at least five innings in each of his outings so far, producing an impressive 3.05 ERA, 1.02 WHIP and 19:5 K:BB through 20.2 innings despite a fastball that barely averages 90 mph. It's doubtful he'll be able to keep getting by much longer with smoke and mirrors, but Miami's injury-ravaged rotation will take all the help it can get. Bellozo is scheduled to make his next start on the road early next week in Philadelphia.

Drawing another start Bellozo is scheduled to make his next turn through the rotation Wednesday versus the Reds in Miami, Daniel Alvarez-Montes of ElExtraBase.com reports.
Impact Called up from Triple-A Jacksonville on Friday to help fill the opening in the rotation created by the Marlins trading Trevor Rogers to the Orioles earlier in the week, Bellozo got the job done in his start against Atlanta. He took a no-decision in the Marlins' 5-3 loss, covering five innings and striking out five while allowing two earned runs on two hits and two walks. Bellozo has covered exactly five frames in each of his three starts with Miami this season and has posted a 4.20 ERA and 0.93 WHIP while striking out a batter per inning.
AUGUST 4, 2024 • ROTOWIRE
Fans five in no-decision Bellozo did not factor into the decision in Friday's 5-3 loss to Atlanta, allowing two runs on two hits and two walks over five innings. He struck out five.
Impact The Miami right-hander was recalled Friday to make his first start since July 2 after pitching to a 3.21 ERA across 14 innings at Triple-A since his last major league appearance. The 24-year-old tossed 66 pitches before being lifted in the sixth after allowing a leadoff triple to Whit Merrifield. The two earned runs on Bellozo's ledger were Merrifield -- who later scored on an Austin Riley RBI groundout -- and a solo homer allowed to Orlando Arcia in the fifth. If the Marlins rookie sticks in the rotation, his next start would be slated to come against the Reds at home next week.
AUGUST 3, 2024 • ROTOWIRE
Recalled ahead of start The Marlins recalled Bellozo from Triple-A Jacksonville on Friday.
Impact Bellozo will start Friday's game in Atlanta, taking the rotation spot vacated by Trevor Rogers, who is now with the Orioles. The 24-year-old right-hander will have a golden opportunity to prove he belongs in the Marlins' rotation for the rest of the season.
AUGUST 2, 2024 • ROTOWIRE
Starting Friday's game Bellozo will be recalled from Triple-A Jacksonville to start Friday's game in Atlanta, Kevin Barral of FishonFirst.com reports.
Impact Bellozo is taking the rotation spot vacated by Trevor Rogers, who was traded to the Orioles earlier this week. The right-hander pitched well in two previous starts with the Marlins, allowing five runs with a 10:1 K:BB over 10 innings. He should have a chance to stick in the big-league rotation for the remainder of the season.
AUGUST 2, 2024 • ROTOWIRE
Optioned to Triple-A The Marlins optioned Bellozo to Triple-A Jacksonville on Wednesday.
Impact Bellozo made two starts for the Marlins, permitting five runs with a 10:1 K:BB over 10 innings of work. His turn in the rotation will come up Sunday and it's not clear at this point who Miami intends to use to fill that slot.
JULY 3, 2024 • ROTOWIRE
Strikes out eight in loss Bellozo (0-1) took the loss to the Red Sox on Tuesday, allowing five runs on seven hits and one walk with eight strikeouts over five innings.
Impact Bellozo generated a solid 12 swinging strikes on 98 pitches and has walked just one batter over 10 major-league innings. He was burned by two rough frames, allowing a two-run single in the first and a three-run home run in the fourth. While it is unclear how long the rookie will remain in Miami's rotation, he tentatively lines up for a favorable matchup against the White Sox this weekend.
JULY 3, 2024 • ROTOWIRE
Sharp in MLB debut Bellozo came away with a no-decision in Wednesday's 5-1 loss to the Royals, allowing just two hits over five scoreless innings. He struck out two without walking a batter.
Impact The 24-year-old righty has walked just one batter over his last three starts at Triple-A prior to his promotion, and Bellozo brought that sharp command with him into his big-league debut, tossing 46 of 72 pitches for strikes. He pitched well enough to get the win and left the mound with the Marlins nursing a 1-0 lead, but Huascar Brazoban blew the save in the eighth inning. Bellozo figures to get at least one more turn in Miami's injury-ravaged rotation, lining him up for another start early next week at home against the Red Sox.
JUNE 26, 2024 • ROTOWIRE
Debuting Wednesday The Marlins will promote Bellozo from Triple-A Jacksonville to start against the Royals on Wednesday, Craig Mish of the Miami Herald reports.
Impact The Marlins acquired Bellozo in a trade with Houston during April, and he'll now get a chance to make his MLB debut as the Marlins continue to work with a depleted pitching staff. The 24-year-old righty hasn't found much success since getting promoted to Triple-A in May, posting a 5.66 ERA and 1.39 WHIP alongside an 18:8 K:BB through 20.2 innings. Miami's injury situation makes it possible Bellozo starts multiple games for the Marlins, though his minor-league struggles make him hard to trust from a fantasy perspective.
