Summoned to big leagues The Marlins selected Zuber's contract from Triple-A Jacksonville on Monday.

Impact The 30-year-old reliever made 10 appearances at the big-league level in 2025 between stops with the Marlins and Mets, but he had been pitching exclusively at the Triple-A level this season before receiving a promotion. Though Zuber posted an eye-popping 33.9 K% in 27.2 innings at Triple-A, he struggled to keep the ball in the yard (six home runs allowed) and walked 12.6 percent of the batters he faced. The Marlins have nonetheless opted to bring Zuber aboard as a fresh arm in relief after the team needed six pitchers plus position player Javier Sanoja to cover eight innings during an impromptu bullpen game in Sunday's 10-1 loss to the Mets.

Cut from Miami camp The Marlins reassigned Zuber to minor-league camp Sunday, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.

Impact Zuber attended camp as a non-roster invitee but had drawn some early buzz after striking out three of the four batters he faced in his first Grapefruit League appearance. However, the right-hander went on to give up at least one run in three of his final four spring outings to take himself out of the running for a spot in the Opening Day bullpen. Zuber previously made 10 big-league appearances with the Mets and Marlins in 2025, pitching to an 11.25 ERA, 1.92 WHIP and 14:6 K:BB in 12 innings.

Returns to Miami on MiLB deal The Marlins re-signed Zuber to a minor-league contract Wednesday.

Impact Zuber got into 10 games between the Mets and Marlins in 2025, yielding 15 runs over 12 frames. The 30-year-old reliever has a career 6.26 ERA at the big-league level but has struck out 73 across 64.2 innings. Zuber is likely to start next season at Triple-A Jacksonville.
