Heads back to Sacramento The Giants optioned Beck to Triple-A Sacramento on Monday.

Impact Outfielder Austin Slater (hamstring) was reinstated from the 10-day injured list and will join the active roster as a replacement for Beck, who was expendable since the Giants already have three other relievers on hand capable of covering multiple innings in Ryan Walker, Jakob Junis and Sean Manaea. Beck will presumably slot back into the Sacramento rotation after he looked sharp over his final three extended relief appearances with the Giants, covering nine innings and allowing just one run on two hits and no walks while striking out 10.

Sharp in three-inning save Beck gave up a hit and struck out two over 3.1 scoreless innings to record his first career save in Friday's 15-1 rout of the Brewers.

Impact Milwaukee offered little resistance in this one, and Beck tossed an efficient 33 pitches (26 strikes) to close out the victory. The 26-year-old rookie has held the opposition scoreless in only four of his nine appearances since his promotion in late April, however, and his 4.63 ERA, 1.24 WHIP and 20:4 K:BB through 23.1 innings don't suggest he's going to see regular higher-leverage work any time soon.

Makes major-league debut Beck allowed four runs on nine hits and a walk while striking out five over 5.1 innings in a 9-4 loss to the Mets on Thursday. He did not factor in the decision.

Impact Sean Manaea wore the loss for this one after getting tagged for five runs in the fourth inning. The Giants rallied in the fifth, but Beck ended up giving back all of that progress, though his long-relief outing helped to spare the bullpen. It's possible Beck will be sent back to Triple-A Sacramento in short order after his MLB debut. He posted a 3.38 ERA, 1.22 WHIP and 9:7 K:BB across 13.1 innings with Sacramento prior to his call-up, so it's clear he still needs to work on trimming his walk rate.

Called up Wednesday Beck was called up from Triple-A Sacramento on Wednesday, Evan Webeck of The San Jose Mercury News reports.

Impact Beck will join the Giants ahead of their series finale against the Marlins, replacing Alex Wood (hamstring), who was added to the 15-day injured list. Beck had been starting for Sacramento, producing a 3.38 ERA and 1.22 WHIP with nine punchouts over 13.1 innings. Though the Giants have an opening in the rotation with Wood on the shelf, Ross Stripling is expected to get the first chance to replace the southpaw, so Beck may be on hand with the big club as a long-relief option.

Optioned to Sacramento Beck (ankle) was optioned Tuesday to Triple-A Sacramento, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.

Impact Beck was removed from a Cactus League appearance this past Sunday after taking a comebacker off his left ankle, but all seems to be well in that regard. The 26-year-old could get the call to the Giants as emergency rotation depth at some point in 2023.

Struck by comebacker Beck exited Sunday's spring game against the A's after being hit in the left ankle with a comebacker, Maria I. Guardado of MLB.com reports.

Impact Beck came out of the bullpen Sunday and delivered 2.2 scoreless frames before exiting the contest. It's unclear if the 26-year-old will be available for his next turn through the rotation, and he should be considered day-to-day until his status is updated.

To start Cactus League opener Beck will start the Giants' Cactus League opener Saturday against the Cubs, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Impact Sam Long will follow him and is expected to work two frames. Beck, 26, posted an underwhelming 5.25 ERA in 111.1 innings last season between Double-A Richmond and Triple-A Sacramento. He has yet to make his MLB debut and will enter the 2023 campaign as emergency depth for San Francisco.
