Recalled to start for Orioles The Orioles recalled Rogers from Triple-A Norfolk on Wednesday.
Impact Rogers will start Wednesday's game on the road against the Rays. The left-handed was terrific in a spot start earlier this season, tossing 6.1 scoreless innings with five strikeouts against the Red Sox. However, Rogers has not pitched well at Norfolk, collecting a 5.46 ERA and 26:8 K:BB over 29.2 innings. Rogers could receive multiple starts for Baltimore while Cade Povich (hip) is out, but he's a risky proposition in fantasy.

On taxi squad ahead of start Rogers has been added to the Orioles' taxi squad and is expected to start Wednesday against the Rays, Danielle Allentuck of TheBaltimoreBanner.com reports.
Impact Rogers is taking the rotation spot of the injured Cade Povich (hip) and is likely to make at least a couple more starts after Wednesday while Povich recovers. The 27-year-old Rogers has been underwhelming this season at Triple-A Norfolk, posting a 5.46 ERA and 26:8 K:BB over 29.2 innings. However, he dazzled in a spot start for the Orioles back in May, striking out five over 6.1 shutout frames versus the Red Sox.

Back to minors after sterling debut The Orioles returned Rogers to Triple-A Norfolk on Saturday, Jake Rill of MLB.com reports. Rogers pitched 6.1 scoreless innings in a no-decision against Boston in the second game o...
Impact Rogers posted an ugly 8.10 ERA across four starts with Triple-A Norfolk prior to being called up Saturday, but none of those struggles showed up in his MLB season debut. The southpaw allowed just two hits -- both singles -- and threw 56 of 87 pitches for strikes while recording a first-pitch strike to 18 of the 22 batters he faced. The effort wasn't rewarded with a victory -- neither team scored until the eighth frame -- but it may result in Rogers getting more opportunities in the rotation in the near future. Rogers' move back to Triple-A following Saturday's outing was a result of him being summoned as the 27th man for the twin bill, and Jacob Calvin Meyer of The Baltimore Sun suggests that the hurler has a good chance of being called up again next week to potentially make another start.

Starting second game Saturday Rogers will start for the Orioles in Game 2 of Saturday's doubleheader against the Red Sox, Jake Rill of MLB.com reports.
Impact Rogers was recalled from Triple-A Norfolk and was expected to start in Friday's doubleheader, but that game ended up being moved to Saturday due to inclement weather. The 27-year-old southpaw will take the mound for Saturday's nightcap following the Orioles' 6-5 loss to the Red Sox in Game 1. Rogers is 0-2 across two Triple-A starts this season with an 8.10 ERA, 1.68 WHIP and 15:6 K:BB across 13.1 innings.

Likely starting second game Friday The Orioles recalled Rogers from Triple-A Norfolk on Friday, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports.
Impact Rogers is up as the 27th man for Friday's doubleheader against the Red Sox and will "probably" start the second game, per Kubatko. The left-hander began the season on the injured list with a knee issue and has struggled in five starts between Double-A Chesapeake and Norfolk, collecting a 7.71 ERA and 18:7 K:BB over 16.1 frames. Rogers went 4.1 innings and threw 80 pitches in his last start with Norfolk, so he should be prepared to handle a relatively normal workload if he does indeed start Friday's second game.

MLB roundtable: Is Freddie Freeman bound for Cooperstown?
Comes off IL, sent to Triple-A The Orioles reinstated Rogers (knee) from the 15-day injured list Sunday and optioned him to Triple-A Norfolk, Cordell Woodland of 105.7 The Fan Baltimore reports.
Impact Cade Povich (5.55 ERA, 1.54 WHIP in seven starts) and Kyle Gibson (13.11 ERA, 2.49 WHIP in three starts) haven't made strong cases for sticking around in the Baltimore rotation, but Rogers didn't perform well enough over his four-start rehab assignment to make a convincing argument to join the big club upon being activated. Between stops with Norfolk and Double-A Chesapeake, Rogers surrendered 10 earned runs on 15 hits and five walks while striking out 13 across 12 innings. He'll continue to make regular turns out of the Norfolk rotation, and if displays improved numbers in his upcoming starts, Rogers could earn a look with the big club.

Improves in fourth rehab start Rogers (knee) made his fourth minor-league rehab start for Triple-A Norfolk on Saturday, allowing one run on three hits and a walk with four strikeouts in 4.1 innings.
Impact Saturday was an improvement for Rogers, who had given up nine runs over the first 7.2 innings during his rehab assignment. The left-hander continues to work his way back from a right knee subluxation, and he was able to throw 70 pitches in his fourth rehab outing. Rogers figures to be ready to return before the end of May following another rehab appearance or two, although it's unclear if he'll join the major-league roster or be optioned to the minors once he's eventually activated from the injured list.

Continues to struggle during rehab Rogers (knee) made his third minor-league rehab start Sunday for Triple-A Norfolk, allowing three runs on four hits and no walks with four strikeouts over three innings, Jacob Calv...
Impact Rogers continues to struggle in the minors, producing a 10.57 ERA, 2.09 WHIP and .364 opponent batting average over 7.2 innings during his assignment. A right knee subluxation prevented the left-hander from participating in spring training, but he was able to build up to 61 pitches Sunday and could become an option for the Orioles sometime in mid-to-late May. However, Rogers will likely need to sharpen up his mechanics before the major-league club even considers him a realistic possibility, as he also limped to a 7.11 ERA, 1.84 WHIP and 12:10 K:BB across 19 regular-season innings after landing in Baltimore at last year's trade deadline.

Labors in second rehab start Rogers (knee) allowed four runs on four hits and three walks while striking out two in 1.2 innings during Tuesday's minor-league rehab start with Triple-A Norfolk, Jacob Calvin Mey...
Impact It was the second rehab start for Rogers, who continues to build up his workload after missing spring training with a right knee subluxation. The left-hander averaged just 91.8 mph on his fastball, and he threw only 55 pitches Tuesday. Rogers has a chance to join Baltimore's beleaguered starting rotation at some point in May, but he still figures to need at least two more appearances in the minors before becoming an option in the major leagues.
