Two homers, stolen base
Turner went 3-for-5 with two home runs, three runs, three RBI and a stolen base in a 9-8 loss to the Padres on Thursday.
Impact
Turner smacked a solo home run in the first, singled, stole second and scored in the third and clubbed a two-run shot to center in the fourth to give Washington an early 8-0 lead. The homers give the slugging shortstop 17 on the season -- he's already approaching his career high of 19 in both 2018 and 2019 -- and his 19 steals are third in all of baseball.

Homers in return
Turner went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and a walk in Monday's 7-5 win over the Padres.
Impact
Turner sent a ball deep to left field on the first pitch of the game he saw to give the Nationals an early 1-0 lead. The 28-year-old missed four games due to a jammed finger but did not appear to be bothered by the issue whatsoever. Turner is slashing an outstanding .321/.370/.522 with 15 homers, 39 RBI, 51 runs scored, 18 steals and a 23:67 BB:K over 346 plate appearances. He was just named to his first-ever All-Star game ahead of Monday's game.

Should avoid injured list
Manager Dave Martinez said he expects Turner (finger) to be in the lineup by "the beginning or middle of the week," Mark Zuckerman of MASNSports.com reports.
Impact
Turner hasn't seen the field since suffering the jammed finger on his left hand Wednesday, but the Nationals are confident a trip to the injured list isn't necessary. Alcides Escobar should continue to see time at shortstop until Turner is cleared to rejoin the lineup. The Nationals head to San Diego on Monday to begin a four-game series.

Remains out of lineup
Turner (finger) isn't starting Saturday's game against the Dodgers.
Impact
Turner took swings ahead of Saturday's matchup to determine whether he'd be able to play, but he'll ultimately be held out of the lineup for a third straight game. It's not yet clear whether he could be available off the bench, but Alcides Escobar will start at shortstop and bat seventh.

Saturday status uncertain
Turner (finger) will take some pregame swings to determine if he can play Saturday against the Dodgers, Mark Zuckerman of MASNSports.com reports.
Impact
There's been no further update on the condition of Turner's finger, which still had swelling Friday after he jammed it Wednesday afternoon. If Turner can't go, Humberto Arteaga may start at shortstop again. It's also possible that Alcides Escobar, whom the Nationals traded for Friday, could be called up to start.
