Settling back into regular role White will start at first base and bat fifth in Wednesday's game against the Royals.
Impact From a playing-time perspective, White appears to be an early beneficiary of Tyler Soderstrom's (hip) recent move to the injured list. White will pick up a fifth consecutive start Wednesday and will be taking a six-game hitting streak into the contest. The rookie corner infielder is slashing .264/.291/.377 with two home runs, six runs and four RBI through his first 15 games of August.

Goes deep again Monday White went 1-for-3 with a solo home run and a walk in Monday's 9-5 loss to the Royals.
Impact After launching the first homer of his big-league career Sunday, White left the yard again with a solo shot in the fifth inning. Since debuting July 17, the 23-year-old has slashed .267/.295/.347 with two homers, two doubles, three RBI and 12 runs in 27 contests. Hammers first big-league homer in win White went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and a second run scored in Sunday's 5-2 win over the Rangers.
Impact White has gone 5-for-12 over his last four games. His long ball Sunday was the first of his major-league career. While White has mostly held his own in his first taste of the majors, he's likely to see only slightly more than a short-side platoon role. He's competing for time at first base with Jeff McNeil as well as being in a three-man battle at third with fellow right-handed hitters Zack Gelof and Max Muncy. Through his first 26 games, White is batting .265 with a .603 OPS, two RBI, 11 runs scored and two doubles.

Exiting starting lineup White is not in the lineup for Monday's contest versus the Rays.
Impact He had made 20 consecutive starts, but with Zack Gelof returning from the injured list, White's playing time against right-handers could dip moving forward. White has just a .548 OPS with zero home runs in his first 21 games. The Athletics will deploy Gelof at third base and Jeff McNeil at first base Monday.

Three knocks in Saturday's loss White went 3-for-4 with a run scored in Saturday's 8-6 loss to the Tigers.
Impact White had gone 0-for-13 with five strikeouts over his previous three games. This was his fifth multi-hit effort so far, including three games of at least three hits, since he made his big-league debut July 17. Overall, he's batting .304 with a .667 OPS, but he has no home runs, two doubles, no RBI and seven runs scored across his first 14 contests in the majors.

Deposits four hits in win White went 4-for-4 with two runs scored in Tuesday's win over the Red Sox.
Impact White was a hit machine, collecting four singles for the second time since being called up July 17. Through 10 games, the 23-year-old is slashing .359/.390/.410 in 41 plate appearances but has yet to record his first big-league RBI. With Zack Gelof (knee) and Joshua Kuroda-Grauer (groin) on the injured list, White appears to have a firm grip on a regular role at the hot corner.

White leads Athletics against the Diamondbacks after 4-hit game

The Athletics take on the Arizona Diamondbacks after Tommy White had four hits against the Diamondbacks on Monday
JULY 21 • Associated Press
Four knocks in Monday's win White went 4-for-5 with a run scored in Monday's 5-2 win over the Diamondbacks.
Impact This was White's first multi-hit effort, coming in his third career game. The infield prospect is getting a chance to play steadily while Nick Kurtz (thumb) and Zack Gelof (knee) are out. White batted .303 with an .834 OPS over 55 games for Triple-A Las Vegas prior to his call-up coming out of the All-Star break. The Athletics' infield is a bit crowded when everyone's healthy, so it'll be up to White to force his way into the lineup on a consistent basis.
