Returning to Padres Hill signed a one-year, $1.325 million contract with the Padres on Tuesday, Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic reports.

Impact The 31-year-old will return to the Padres for a third consecutive season after pitching in 78 games with the squad in 2021. He tossed 59.2 innings while compiling a 3.62 ERA, 1.24 WHIP and striking out 56 batters. Hill's 17 holds were the second-highest on the team and he will remain a set-up option for the Padres next season.
